Creative writing group? Dancing classes?

Recommended Posts

Hi.

I'm a writer in Peckham. I've just started planning a creative writing class with an emphasis on writing memoir or personal writing. My speciality is memoir writing. I have a potential location sorted out on Bellenden Road at one of the cafes, which means the classes will include food, coffee, tea and cakes, hopefully making it feel more like a club than a class. If I get ten people signed up it's a go. There will be a fee for seven sessions, each one focussing on a different aspect of creative writing.

My own memoir, Immortal Highway, has jus been published and is available. The launch is at Review Books on 14 January. If you want more details PM me and I'll send you a link.

I used to dance but not anymore.

Thanks.

    • Avoid a private purchase on Autotrader or wherever UNLESS you know the tricks and scams of the used car market and are a competent vehicle scrutiniser. Believe me, the "private" seller market is a jungle for the unwary and inexperienced. There's lots of devious practices for the unaware and uninitiated. Trust me, I've been in the new/used vehicle  market for 30 years. If you really want to buy private, the n tell the seller you will buy it subject to a thorough inspection by an AA or RAC engineer. If they don't agree then walk away, fast.  As for auctions, that's even worse - especially with Copart where you never get to inspect the car "in the flesh". You have to work off their photos and descriptions which are rarely accurate. BCA and Mannheim auctions are the big auction houses and are better . It's  where the used-car trade buy  a lot of their stock. The trade buyers will spot a private buyer a mile off and will bid you up and dump you with an over-priced lemon so that you don't come back. Ex-Motability cars have a history of regular services and are well sought after. Consequently, they command a good price. CarGiant and some other outlets have a good percentage of ex-Mobility stock. Plus they check each car and so you have assurance.
    • Does anybody have a Gelli plate kicking around, either that they never got round to using or did, but didn't get on with it? I can't quite bring myself to spend shedloads of money on a new one, and the cheap ones apparently don't give good results. I realise it's a long shot, but posting here in hope! Photo attached of the kind of thing I mean. Also a brayer, if anyone has one  they don't want!
    • Didn't they try to do this when they were going LTN mad after lockdown? Is this the rehashed version of that (which Phase was it) which I think was dropped when someone worked out it was going to be a displacement disaster Which private schools are off as the ones near me were full of kids today?
    • Scattered over Winterbrook Road last week. Maybe someone’s bag was stolen? Would love to reunite the owner with it.    contact on 07770457555
