Charming Victorian one bedroom in Peckham

We have a charming one-bedroom flat for rent from February 19th onwards (long-let) in a lovely Victorian converted house. The flat has beautiful wooden floors throughout, and stunning sash windows that let in so much light. Five hundred square feet and on the first floor, it has a large bedroom that overlooks a pot-plant courtyard, a good-sized hall, chic bathroom and separate toilet, a large living/dining room and a separate kitchen. There is also a great roof terrace available where we grow herbs and have a night-time drink!

Located on Peckham Road, it is a ten minute walk to Peckham Rye shops and station, and a ten minute walk to the restaurants and bars of Camberwell. It is also very close to the bus-stop too which is serviced by ten different routes.

We are only moving because the baby is sick of sleeping in the living room!

It is ?1300 per calendar month and the deposit (which will be kept in a government approved scheme) required is six weeks rent.

There are lots of pictures here: https://www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/3694123

We have an open house on Saturday. PM if you would like to see it!

    • Mine was to do with them changing delivery depots from Croydon to Dartford, couldn't work that one out. Re: DPD, mysteriously the booking price increases compared to their original quote, found it cheaper and just as quick with Parcelforce.
    • I have been attending Gokay Fitness for approximately 18 months and mainly take part in weekly group sessions to build on strength fitness.  Having been a runner for 10 years I considered myself fairly fit with good cardio ability but I was keen to improve on my strength.  During my time at Gok Fitness I have also had 1:1 personal training after a two months bout of pneumonia when I felt I was not ready to return to group classes and Gok and a member of his team, Ilona,  worked with me on a reduced 1:1 programme, which was perfect to restore my energy and strength over a six week recuperation period. More recently I have attended group Hyrox classes and a friend and I took part in this competition as a pair a couple of weeks ago.  The training gave us a good insight into the Hyrox event and got us “Hyrox fit” with very little aches or pains after the occasion. My experience with all of Gokay’s staff has been brilliant and the “hub” is a superb location.  I especially enjoy the outdoor classes – in all weathers!  The staff are encouraging, supportive, inspiring and kind.  Gokay has an excellent business!    Experience it for yourself - you won’t regret it!
    • We have used a number of tradespeople rennovating our flat over the last decade, and Matt Hanson and his team are by far the best we have come across. They have repaired and replaced a bathroom (after a long lasting leak was discovered), as well as a large scale redecoration. All was done with clear communication, great quality work (with an attention to detail we have not seen elsewhere) and reasonable prices. Highly recommend and we are already planning the next work we will do with them.
    • Did the current owner choose to do this or have they 'inherited' it? If they chose to do this then they're obviously not wedded to original period features so I'd go with an infill of matching floorboards, perhaps stain the whole lot and stagger joints so they blend in better.  If they inherited this and want a period feature I'd go with decorative Victorian tiles (I don't like the sound of self-adhesive vinyl tiles). Then use it to place a floor lamp/house plants/candles etc to make it look like it was meant to be rather than a cover-up job.  Both options will require some chipping away of the concrete to provide a level finish with the floorboards, but much preferable than a trip hazard step and something that looks bodged.  After chipping away at the concrete I'd use a self-leveling screed to provide a flat surface to work with.  Other options are a rug, piece of furniture etc and let someone else have the problem!...
