Huguenot Posted July 29, 2011 Share Posted July 29, 2011 'Lap' actually refers to a loose strip of a garment - so your 'front' shirt tails, or the front of a pinafore or wrap-around skirt.So your lap doesn't go anywhere when you stand up - it's right there where it always was...
