  • General

    Your display name is the alias you go by on the forum. It is name shown next to every post you make.

    To change your display name, ensure you are logged into your account and go to this page: https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/settings/

    Press the Change button to the right of the Display Name.

    Go to the Forgot Password page: https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/lostpassword/

    On this page you will need to enter the email address associated with your account and press Submit. You will then be sent an email with a link to reset your password.

    If you want to remove an item you've listed in the For Sale & Items Offered or Family Room Classifieds board, then please use the 'End Listing' button at the top of the page.

    If you need to remove a post you've made elsewhere in the forum, go to the post then press the Edit button - this is located in the menu accessed by clicking the 3 dots to the top right of the post.

    You can then edit the post to say 'REMOVED'.

    Note that for audit purposes, you cannot delete a post, but if you really need it gone, you can remove the text so people cannot see it.



    To request deletion of your account, go to the Account Security page.

    To report a post, use the Report button. To access this, open the menu by clicking the 3 dots to the top right of the message, then Report.

  • Private Messages

    You can go directly to the private messages page via this link: https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/messenger/

    To access this page via the menu:

    If you are viewing the forum on a mobile phone, press the 'More' button in the bottom right menu then press the Mail (envelope) icon at the top of the menu.

    If you are viewing the forum on a desktop/laptop PC, press the Mail (envelope) icon at the top right of the screen.


    To send someone a private message regarding their topic/post, use the 'Private Message' link under their post message. This link will only be shown if you are logged into your account.



    Next, you'll be taken to a screen as shown below, where the 'To' field has been pre-filled with the person's name. You need to fill out a Subject, Message, then press submit.




  • Classifieds

    After selling your item, use the 'End Listing' button above the first post message, near the 'Reply to this topic' button.

    Using this will automatically lock your topic so nobody else can add further replies. It also adds a 'Sold' or 'No Longer Available' tag to the title.

    Go to the For Sale & Items Offered forum board. Here you can search through the items for sale which other forum members have listed. We also have a separate Family Room Classifieds board for listing baby, toys and other family related items.

    To create your own listing, press the green Start new topic button near the top.

    You will then be taken to a 'Create New Topic' page where you can enter the details of the item (see screenshots below). Here are the steps:

    1. The title of the item. Its a good idea to include the price here, for example 'Ikea Desk - £20'
    2. The description. Its a good idea to mention which area it can be collected from (e.g. East Dulwich, Peckham)
    3. Attach a photo by pressing the 'Add Files' button. If you are using a phone, this will give you an option to take a photo with your camera, or choose a photo you've already taken.
    4. Press Submit topic.

    Your item is now listed. If anyone is interested, they will send you a private message. You will receive an email notification if someone does, and there will be an alert displayed when you next visit the forum.
