sammysamkiani
Hi and very happy new year to you all!:)-DI'm having what I think is a small but fundamental issue successfully fully setting up QNAP NAS with BT Home Hub 3. Portforwarding looks like its set up right, but doesn't work :XIs there any one out there who might be able to help - in exchange for either good karma, a hearty home cooked meal or fee depending on the scale of assistance needed to crack this very very annoying snag?!CheersSam(6)
acm
Um, why would you be using port forwarding? Your home hub should have an external IP address for the internet, and an internal IP subnet for, obviously, internal use.For a home NAS system, the NAS box and your PC should be on the same IP subnet. I suspect your NAS is on 169.254.xxx.xxx and your PC is probably on 192.168.xxx.xxx.Hence they won't see each other.
Loz
You need port forwarding to make it visible to the internet, so you can access your files when you are out of the home.Sam - I have a QNAP. PM me and I'll see if I can help.
