Harvest Time at Brixton Windmill
Sunday 24 September 1pm to 5pm
Our free family festival celebrates the annual wheat harvest and the histories and crafts of milling and artisan bread making with craft workshops, live music, food, and beer from Brixton Brewery. Workshops for children include baking and traditional corn dolly making. Our shop and cafe will be open together with bookable guided tours of the windmill.
The day includes:
Learn about wheat!
Learn all about the growing, harvesting, and milling of the wheat, grain and flour that makes your favourite bakes such as cakes, biscuits, breads and more! With information and practical displays throughout the afternoon from expert millers, and growers. You can even have a go at milling yourself with our hand querns!
Advanced-booked full windmill tours (book via our www.brixtonwindmill.org )
Running every half hour from 1-4:30pm.
‘Turn up and Go’ shorter windmill tours
Available throughout the afternoon and do not require pre-booking but you may need to queue as they are very popular.
Shop and cafe
Open throughout the afternoon selling uniquely designed Brixton Windmill products and freshly baked homemade cakes made with our very own flour.

Children’s baking workshops – hedgehog buns at 1.30pm and 3pm (max 8 children 7 to 12) £3 per child.
