Composting Workshop with London School of Horticulture
Saturday 11th October 2025 - 10.30am - 1.30pm
Rosendale Allotments Community Building, 227 Rosendale Rd, SE21 8LP
Recycling your garden and kitchen waste into home-made compost is both easy and environmentally friendly. It reduces transporting waste to landfill, provides your plants with nutrients, protects the soil and is a valuable habitat for hundreds of invertebrates. Many people think you require lots of space or expensive containers, but this is not the case and there are a variety of simple approaches to composting.
Participants will be able to look at different types of composting in the allotment site and discuss the suitability of different methods for their situation, including wormeries and the Japanese Bokashi method. We will also explore compost teas and demonstrate ways of making homemade plant foods.
Workshops held on Saturday morning in our Rosendale Allotments classroom with a maximum of 12 students.
