We are always delighted to welcome Alasdair Roberts to the Goose, and this year he will be accompanied by the very excellent piper Donald WG Lindsay.
Alasdair draws upon the traditional song and music culture of Scotland, and further afield, to create both his own idiosyncratic and evocative compostions as well as fresh interpretations of folk songs and narrative ballads.

Donald WG Lindsay's beautiful piping adds another dimension to Alasdair's already beautiful music.
Donald and Alasdair will present a programme featuring a rich variety of pipe tunes with guitar accompaniment, as well as a broad selection of songs both traditional and original.
The pipe tunes bring together a diverse range of influences, from Scots fiddle tunes (Donald’s elder brother’s fiddling being an early influence), by way of Hungarian and Romanian pipe music, to classic and contemporary Highland piping and Lowland, Border and Northumbrian tunes.
The songs range from variants (some rare, some more well-known) of traditional ballads or ‘muckle sangs’, to songs from the Scots lyrical tradition from the early modern period onwards, to contemporary songs written by both Alasdair and Donald.
Erin Mansfield encompasses all the vigour and exuberance of young Folk. As a trailblazer of contemporary tin whistle and pioneer of modern social folk dance, Erin is a bright new light, stamping their passion and originality onto everything they do.
Phil Stevens wears many musical hats! He is at home singing Shape Note songs and Shanties as he is tackling the songs of Robyn Hitchcock. Phil is a Goose Singaround regular, and a member of local shanty group Shotley Crue.
