I am a gap year student who left Alleyn’s School sixth form last year. I am available to give maths tuition from primary to GCSE level. I received an A grade in maths A-level, which is something that nobody thought I would be able to achieve.
I am dyslexic and struggled with maths when I was younger (dyslexia affects things like sequencing for many, though not all, dyslexics). My parents hired a maths tutor for me when I was in year 8. When I said something to my tutor about doing maths A-level, she said ‘God help us all if you ever do maths A-level.’ But I achieved an A* for GCSE and went on to do well in the maths A-level.
In other words, I am familiar with many of the struggles that students have with maths, and have developed many ways to overcome the difficulties. So if your child finds maths difficult, I believe there is a good chance they can do well with the right learning techniques. That means not depending on standard methods of learning but trying many different ways of looking at problems until it ‘clicks’.
I can teach either in person or Skype/facetime. My rates are $25/ph.
Please send me a DM or call me on 07799101930, if you would like help with math tuition in the coming months.
