This ride is really going places -- North of the River, no less, to visit Primrose Hill. The return should be 1pm. To make this possible it has to start half way there, at the Southwark Needle (see pic if you've never heard of it) which is at the south end of London Bridge at the top of Duke Hill Street. The re-assuring news is that East Dulwich to London Bridge is a 13 minute direct journey by train. Walk on at East Dulwich and once at London Bridge Station there are very nice lifts from platforms to street level. Free loos in the station. If you prefer to cycle there's a cycle route https://cycle.travel/map/journey/133449 which includes a stretch of the always-delightful Cycleway 1.

From the Needle the route leads eastwards via Tower Bridge, Cycleway 3, CW6, Euston and Regents Park where there will be a welcome coffee stop. The destination is Primrose Hill and the glorious view over London. It's all flat apart obviously from Primrose Hill. There's lots to see including the fountains at Kings Cross and some exciting gasometers. All types of cyclists welcome on any kind of bike (someone once joined us on a unicycle). Currently (emphasis added) the weather forecast is for cold but not actually rain so there might be something to see.

The route back is via Camden Lock, Regents Canal towpath, Kings Cross, CW6, Blackfriars Bridge, NR4. The map is here:

We did this route last year, see report and video at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/60-healthy-riders-out-on-saturday-29th-sept/

Ride reports with photos from Charlie Chaplin and Trinity Buoy Wharf rides now up at https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/healthy-rides/healthy-ride-reports-2019/. These rides are organised by Bruce Lynn and friends on behalf of Southwark Cyclists https://southwarkcyclists.org.uk which is the borough group of the London Cycling Campaign https://lcc.org.uk.
