Overview
Mutts Be Love has been operating and caring for our local dogs in East Dulwich and surrounding areas for just over 3 years. We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Walker to join our team at Mutts Be Love. This role is perfect for individuals who love animals and enjoy spending time outdoors. As a Dog Walker, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of dogs while providing them with the exercise they need.
Experience with dogs is a plus, but not required — training will be provided.
Job Overview and requirements
- Applicants must be self-employed.
- Be available to work Tuesday, Wednesday and possibly Thursday from approximately 8.30/9am until 2/2.30pm.
- Must have access to a car with a clean driver licence.
- Ideally should be physically fit and must be comfortable walking 2-4 dogs at a time.
- Payment will be calculated per dog walked.
Responsibilities
- Walk dogs of various sizes and breeds, ensuring their safety at all times.
- Maintain control of dogs on leads and ensure they are well-behaved during walks.
- Provide basic care for dogs.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their dog's behaviour and needs.
- Keep detailed records of each walk, behaviour, and any incidents.
- Ensure all equipment used (leads, harnesses) is in good condition and safe for use.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in animal care or working with dogs is advantageous but not necessary.
- Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments confidently.
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their welfare.
- Excellent organisational skills to manage schedules and client appointments efficiently.
