  1. Does anyone know if there are plans to develop the property next to yilmaz kebab (the burnt out terrace and boarded up site next to it, by the very top of Peckham rye park)? I go by it regularly and always think there must be plenty of useful shops/housing/centres/etc that could go in that space and it’s made me wonder why it’s been left like that for so long. Also sort of surprises me that it’s safe to leave a fire damaged building standing for years (but I guess they must check it). Seems like maybe there were some plans for flats a while back but obviously haven’t happened.
  2. Adding another recommendation for Hussein and his team - they did a fantastic job redecorating a number of rooms. Friendly, tidy and amazingly efficient - you can really trust them to get on with any project and do it properly. We will definitely be using them for all future decorating projects.
  3. I'm thinking I can't be the only one with this issue.. A fence on one side of our garden has fallen over into our garden. The guy we've spoken to about fixing this has said he needs access into the neighbour's garden too in order to secure the posts and panels in. However, our neighbour simply won't engage to allow access - we've knocked dozens of times, left a note, etc. (We're happy to pay for it, we literally just need the access.) We moved into the property a year ago, and from speaking to the previous residents, they never had any contact with him either. So we're a bit stuck. Has anyone ever used a fence company that was able to fix a fence without going into their neighbour's garden? Or have any ideas on how to resolve this?
  4. Hi, does anyone know how the cycle hire works from the cycle hub in Peckham station? Google suggests you can hire Bromptons for a day but I can?t see anything on the Brompton bike app allowing you to book Peckham. Or any other suggestions of where to hire a bike for a day around Peckham/ED would be helpful. Thanks!
  5. Julian just built two alcove wardrobes for us in our spare bedroom. I am absolutely delighted with the quality of the workmanship - they really elevate the room (and of course practically provide masses of useful storage). Julian was wonderful to work with - completely reliable, punctual, tidy, and kept us involved in all the decisions along the way. He is clearly an expert in what he does, giving us lots of useful suggestion, and above all an incredibly nice and friendly guy! I?d recommend him in an instant to anyone looking for carpenter and wardrobe / cupboard work. Contact details Julian Richards 07931 520713 [email protected]
  6. Does anyone have any recommendations for a reliable company / builder that can redo a poorly built bathroom? Looking to get tiles & boardings replaced, possible repairs as well due to water damage. We've asked a couple people so far but the quotes are either extortionate or have several months lead time..
  7. Echoing all the positive recommendations for Jon Smith (who I found through this thread). Very responsive, friendly and did a great job with some pretty mucky windows. We?ll definitely be using him again.
  8. Hi Looking for recommendations for a builder who could help with a small job - one of the main pipes going up the back of our house has come out of its brackets and we need someone to help secure it back in. Probably a relatively straightforward job but would be good to have someone do it properly. Cheers
