Join me for a morning of clay portraiture. You can work from photographs, bring your own model along or a mirror and do a self-portrait! If you want to work from photographs, make sure you take pictures of front, both sides, back and three quarters. As many angles as possible! All materials provided, but do feel free to being your own tools if you want! Tonight I’ll show you guys how I read photos as references & how I deconstruct them and translate them into drawings. Bring your own references! These can also be unfinished drawings! From line & from values. Importance of gaze different anatomical parts in the face introduction to long poses values Break it down into stages first sketch where we compose the portrait, make sure proportions are correct Determine the 3-4 different value groups Find sub-values Clean up and tidy up drawing with lines and eraser Use break to review drawings ARTIST/MODELS will be asked to pose for 15 - 20 min each throughout the session.
