  1. Interesting take mal Maybe the reduction in spending to 50% by the government on active travel is a sensible reaction to the expected boom not happening. After all when money is short, why waste it on schemes that aren't being used as much as expected, thereby cutting your cloth accordingly and redirecting the money where its needed more. You can build so much cycling inferstructure but as they say you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. Whilst more active travel is an admirable goal, if people don't want to go that route and with the weather in this country, then its hard to see it expanding much more than it has already.
  2. Obviously, now discovered the real use of lime bikes, if you scroll through the pictures you will see they make effective bus blockers. Personally I think if protesters had real courage in their convictions they should have used their own bikes and not someone else's 😉 BBC News - Peckham: Protesters block coach over asylum seeker transfer https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-68943919
  3. I hope binface wins as that will be an interesting post election delivery 😂
  4. Simple thing us to find a house you like and buy it, areas change, sometimes for better , sometimes for worse, but if you find the right house with amenities nearby then you are a winner. The neighbourhood itself doesn't matter but what's around you that is important to you does.

  6. Ahh, the local election where even if Labour said they were going to slaughter all first born, people would still have voted for them to stick one to Boris snd the tories 🤣 You really can't take that as an endorsement for a scheme that felt marginal compared to how people felt about bigger issues..
  7. Sounds like you are running scared of the idea Earl, come now with so much debate over what is a consultation /referendum surly it's a simplel way of settling the argument 🤔
  8. There's a simple solution, let's have a referendum on the LtNs and Dulwich junction that is restricted to residents living within a mile of it. (This stops outside interference by organisations for either side) Then let's see if there is support for or against it and have a legal binding agreement that the results are respected and acted upon by the council. Sounds fair to me or are people scared of discovering how strong feeling is either way ?

  11. Something smells fishy here. Two separate people, multiple purchase, each time saying chicken was off. If that's the case Environmental Health would be all over the shop like ants swarming a carcass. Can't quite put my finger on what's really going on here 🤔
  12. This reads like an article in Gardeners World where Percy Chucker is discussing how he grew his SUV so big just using diesel based fertiliser and regular waywrimg 🤣 But point well made, they are getting bigger which is partly down to safety features that older cars didn't have but also marketing as adverts seen to push SUVs into the public eye.
  13. Labour are proposing to nationalise the railways, (passenger trains but not fright) Whilst it removes them from shareholders control, and potential profit chasing, is it workable or will it end up costing tax payers more in the long run? On paper the idea is interesting but does it also need the profitable freight arm included to help reduce fares,?
  14. Are your neighbours also smelling it? If not, I had a similar issue years ago and found it was down to an emersion heater element failing and putting strain on the wiring, which had to be replaced. Hopefully you can track it down.
