  1. Anyone have any good ones reasonably local to recommend?
  2. Thanks for info.. have been on hold or passed from pillar to post (online chat) with customer services since midday. I'll be sure to ask for the box to return equip when I finally get to the right person. They are awful to deal with.
  3. I have exactly same issue as original post and was about to ask same - virgin is shocking and has put price up. Moneysavingexpert.com search tool (based by post code) is really useful and I think I am going to change to plusnet Virgin can be less straightforward to leave as they use their own line, you need to notify them yourself it seems rather than the switching team of your new provider. Good luck :-)
  4. I have wrongly delivered post/parcel for you :-) PM me if you know where she lives.
  5. It's really appreciated. The "buy them a coffee" donations gives staff a space to go to on a break, tea coffee and fresh juices. You can ask for basic toiletries if you have run out, essentials if your stuck at work (deodorant, tooth brush that kind of thing). I was craving green veg and was given a bag full to take home. The supermarkets that open early for NHS are still not that practical if your on a 12.5 hour shift start 0730hrs. On a day off you really do want to have a lie in and go no where. So it's much more than just a coffee and does really help. And the clapping was amazing.
  6. Also highly recommend Lee from Garvey plumbing.07881 277385 Came to fix my broken shower on a Sunday and returned next day with parts to complete. Realising I was a nurse dealing with corona times he basically did it all for free bar the parts. including waiving his Sunday call out fee. Unbelievably generous and I really appreciated it. So for being a great plumber and an all round lovely human I recommend. (dont' all try it or he'll ask for staff ID!) Much appreciated.
  7. Garvey Plumbing - Highly recommend and they do boilers. I had to call Lee (the plumber) this Sunday when shower broke - he arrived within a couple of hours. It needed parts but I gave him a key and he came and fixed in next morning when I was out at work. He also did a little TLC to my boiler when he noticed it needed pressure sorting - no extra charge. He was massively generous with the invoice and ensured that I was able to have showers/baths again within 24 hours Essential to a nurse right now! Lee Garvey Plumbing - 07881277385
  8. Another vote for Maurice 07720 648 273 - very reasonable price and lovely guy. Will use again for sure. Does everything but boilers.
  9. Hi. Just found your question when I did a search on EDF for Absolute Lofts. I have just started and it's been a terrible first 2 days (hence search to see what others had said). Did you go with them? Very smooth and reassuring at the quoting stage. But I have lost faith horribly in the last 2 days (the only 2 days). Turned up with the wrong plans day 1. Day 2 broke bathroom tap and broke hall table.
  10. This cat is hillarious, chat chat chat. Been around for a few years and always acts the same. I did used to see it sitting at the window (inside) a property near the bottom end of the road. I love my regular chats and strokes with it and although not fat I don't think it's too thin. It's sporting a lovely summer "clip" and looks quite lion like with it's big fluffy head.
  11. Sounds excellent, I will give them a go, cheers!
  12. I am aware there are few options locally for picture framing... very pricey activity it seems! I have been given a nice painting and want to get it framed properly - anyone had work done recently they can recommend?
  13. Hi, I also reccomend Nikos (of Taps N Tubs). 07818 607583. I had a plumbing emergency and called him based on recomendations here. FIxed same day at a very reasnable rate. Also does handy man work, bathroom instalation, kitchens and tiling too according to the card. Nice chap.
  14. Peckham rye park, in packet, 2 green balls. lost in park today mid morning. retraced steps, unfound as yet.
  15. Hi all I have my 2yr old niece and 4 yr old nephew coming to stay for 2 nights this week... without parents! (parents will deposit them here before going off for 2 days) A first for them and for me! I am fairly organised, however it would help if I could find a stair gate and a travel cot(for 2 yr old) to borrow for wed/thurs night of this week. In the off chance anyone here can lend one I thought I would try this little request. I am more than happy to leave deposit, pay with wine etc :-) If you think you can help please pm me and I will check later today. Thanks guys Also.. top tips on what to do with them?? I was thinking CPP with it's dinosaurs and petting zoo would be a good day out? *UPDATE* 3pm. I now have a travel cot thanks so this forum :-)
