  1. Center Parc's fans: we have just come back from a sensational week at CP Woburn and would like to rebook with our rebooking discount voucher for the same time of year but in 2018. Are there any fans here who would recommend Longleat or Elevden over Woburn Forest? Or indeed Woburn over all 3? Little one's are will both be just 5 next year. Would love some tips.... TIA
  2. Are there any parents on here who would be willing to have a little chat with me about either or both of these assessments which my little one will be sitting gin Jan 2018? Thank you x
  3. Advice please. Xmas present help! Next Xmas, myself and my other half are going to New York, just the 2 of us, kid free. (I have a daughter; he has no kids). We are both already ridiculously excited for it and we will be there 24/12 - 30/12. I'd like to buy him an Xmas present this year that's "for NYC next year" but I can't think of anything other than a very warm pair of gloves which doesn't quite seem exciting enough. Does anyone have any great ideas and nothing more than ?40? Thanks xx
  4. I'd like to find somewhere where I can design a very humble, non fussy birthday card...for a bloke. I want to be able to pop a poem on the front of it (not one that I've written; in actual fact it's Twice Shy by Seamus Heaney).....any tips or ideas of places or websites where I can pop that together as a one off? Thanks x
  5. Help me please! Very unique, not expensive, sensible and fun items (original) for a little one's party bag. I so far have: bubbles: not unique but always fun. I'd like two to three more items. There are 7 bags to fill (only). Any fantastically original genius ideas out there? We are not allowed any food or sweets.......(school regs) x
  6. CALAIS RELATED DON'T JUST READ AND RUN! I am collecting donations which will in turn be delivered to Dalston on the 6th of September when they are holding a big donation drop day. The donated supplies will be driven to the migrants living in the Calais camps. I hope that with kindness and compassion in your hearts, you also believe that NO person should be without access to basic human rights like shelter and warmth. By collecting donations, we can help the chairty "Calaid" to improve these conditions. For those not 100% in-the-know: The situation in Calais is part of a wider migration crisis in Europe - caused largely by the displacement of people from war-torn countries such as Syria, Sudan, Afghanistan and Eritrea. Please can we all work together to try to change the perception of this crisis from one of hostility & fear to one of concern & compassion. I simply cannot sit back and read migrant related news articles online anymore, stare at horrific photos of drowned children or watch footage of migrants riddled with fear and looking so lost. I don't know why more neighbouring countries in the Middle East, such as Saudi Arabia, the Oman, U.A.E, etc, aren't opening their doors to help their neighbours. I suppose I should understand more about why indeed they're not helping as much as it would make sense for them to do so. (Please excuse my ignorance and I don't want this thread to turn into anything argumentative or political.) Let's not turn a blind eye. Please let's try to help as much as we can. I am taking donations tomorrow, Thursday and early Friday, which doesn't give you long to get stuff together but if enough people respond to this request for donations, I will fill my large car up and drive it out to the 'Calaid' location in Calais myself, before the weather turns horrid and cold. PLEASE READ BELOW FOR WHAT WE NEED TO BE COLLECTING FOR THOSE WAITING...WAITING AND WAITING... IN CALAIS. I l LIVE IN PENGE AND CAN COLLECT WITHIN 5-10 MILES FROM HERE. 7. Our beloved music class with Monica Weil's Creative Music is sadly coming to an end as she's retiring this month. Such a shame as they really were the best classes we ever went to. I am looking for a fun music class starting in Sept 2015 for my little one who'll be just about turning 2 then. We didn't really get on with Boppin Bunnies at Punk Me Up cafe as the littles ones tend to run all around the shop and be more interested in painting lol! I know that there's the Monkey Music franchise but I wondered if there was anything a bit more local? Please let me know if you have any recco's.... Thanks heaps x
  8. Hi, does anyone know where I could get this done locally? The swimming group that my toddler swims with only offer it to bubbas in their first term. Looking forward to some helpful replies, thanks.
  9. Can anyone recommend a very relaxing holiday break, preferably abroad, with a 20 month old toddler who loves being in the pool? I'm looking for somewhere with a baby club or fantastic creche......... I'd love a few hours off each day, just to be alone and to revive my knackered self! I'd appreciate any advice........ thanks x
  10. We used Kaye who is local, exceptionally reasonably priced and brilliant! 07535413543 is her number xx
  11. Resorting to the Forum for some very specific advice or pointers. I was wondering if any parents or carers out there were aware of a local female Filipino community here in Dulwich, South East London, for someone looking for live-in, full time help close by? Request is specifically Filipino, with Visa and passport, live in, full time and help would be split between some childcare, care of the home and a little bit of occasional meal preparation. We would sincerely and gently appreciate it if anyone might know of a lead within the area. Many kind thanks, (please PM for further details, etc) :-)
  12. I am looking to register myself with a Private GP within the area. Before I head to the mighty Google, I wondered if there were any local recommendations. I'd be happy to head out of the area, within reason (i.e Clapham, Bromley,). I would appreciate any advice via a PM if possible. Many thanks in advance for any help.
