  1. Thanks for the feedback, especially the advice on googling 'how to build a balanced portfolio ' it led me to

all sorts of useful sites which gave me the same info as an advisor but for free.I feel more confident now to

    make some informed decisions.

  2. Has anyone had dealings with a financial advisor? Have they proved their worth? I've met with two,

they charged between ?2800-3000 for advice and implementation of advice, then it was up to 1.8%

Of the total funds each year to actively manage it.I was wondering if anyone has used one and

    found it beneficial.

  3. Hi all

I am desperately looking for a qualified tv aerial specialist. Since switching to digital the picture on out tv is rubbish and think its due to aerial on roof being effected by wind and rain as that's when it's totally distorted.

    Any recommendations will be appreciated

    Many thanks in advance

  4. A warning to other motorists.Late this afternoon I pulled up ouside my house in Lacon Road.I locked my van ,but left

windows very slightly open.I went indoors to change out of my work clothes and came out ten minutes later to find window

had beed forced down .They had stolen two pairs of sunglasses and a minidisc player.A strange thing though-they had also taken out a drill but had left it beside the van,not sure if it was because they saw it was security marked or

they were disturbed. So to all motorists,wind-up windows and always put alarm on,even if you are only leaving vehicle for a few minutes

  5. To all the lovely people of east dulwich who may remember my father Tony and his 4 legged buddy Jed his old English sheep dog. For many years he would walk around the area with a big friendly smile chatting up the ladies!

For the last few years he has suffered from ill health and has been house bound and sadly on April 7th he passed away peacefully aged 90 years.

I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to all those people who looked out for him and made sure he was ok on some of his not so good days!

My fathers funeral will take place on Thursday 19th April 3.15pm at Honor Oak Crematorium and afterwards we will meet at Vintage Pretty's on Northcross Road around 4pm.

  6. Has anyone else challenged getting a ticket for being in the loading bay ouside Dulwich DIY ?

Last week I received a PCN for being in a bus lane before 10 am ,after which restrictions are lifted.

I didn't drive down the bus lane ,I just entered the section which was marked off as loading, but it is

before the sign saying that 'bus lane ends'. There are two poles next to the loading bay ,but they don't

have any signs on them to say that there is any time restrictions on loading. I have challenged the notice,

stating these facts but they have rejected it.The guys in Dulwich DIY told me im the 6th person yhey know of

that has been fined for this offence.

Should I challenge this again or just pay up in case they double the fine to ?130, does anyone know if I

    have a case?

  7. Has anyone travelled around California by campervan.Im looking to do this in September but, after adding up milage costs and fees for sites,Im thinking it could be cheaper to travel by car and stay in guest houses.Any advice or information would be much appreciated.
  8. I just wanted to let all you lovely, kind people of east dulwich kno.w that Jed,the old English sheep dog, died on friday the 21st.Many of you might not know his name but would would have known who he was as he was a familiar sight walking around the local area with the old man who is my dad.We are both missing him very much as he was such a gentle, loving animal. We are now thinking of giving a home to a couple of rescue cats.
