  1. Not a Scrabble player, then?
  2. Has it been noted on here before that the opening times for the Peckham DO have changed? It’s now only open from 8 until 10 in the morning every weekday: https://www.royalmail.com/services-near-you/delivery-office/peckham-and-east-dulwich-delivery-office-se15-5au
  3. Try this Twitter account run by people who actually live in Epping: https://x.com/epping4everyone?s=21&t=A-MG_WSx4sypqtpbSl-W6g It posts an interview on BBC Radio Essex with a mother of young children who lives in a house directly opposite the Bell Hotel and her experience with these “protesters”. It’s really worth a listen.
  4. Can we have all that again in English? And with punctuation?
  5. I think you may have read it here: Two in five arrested for last summer’s UK riots had been reported for domestic abuse | Domestic violence | The Guardian
  6. The bells are there because so many drivers are bell-ends.
  7. Yes, killing themselves. Taking their own life. In the case of assisted dying, it is an informed, personal, justified and soon to be legal decision. Your use of the term suicide (which is the legal term for a formerly criminal act) is petty and pejorative in context. Your post was totally off topic.
  8. @Penguin68 I find your post really weird and frankly a bit creepy. The discussion is about the fact that a charity shop has a sale on and whether their pricing and stock policy has changed. To twist that into an attack on government fiscal policies and an oblique snipe at the cross party supported assisted dying legislation, passed with clear support from the majority of the public, is just bafflingly bizarre. I am relieved that you stopped short of blaming Southwark Council or TfL. There is no contradiction between the intent of the assisted dying bill and the work of hospices, it does not force doctors to do anything and suicide doesn’t exist- it was abolished as a crime in 1961. If you wish to raise yet another argument you have already lost, I suggest you start a new thread rather than divert this one off topic.
  9. We are genuinely, in the 2020s, where Europe was in the 1930s.
  10. As this place has degenerated into a Twitter thread, here goes: I love to see people waving or wrapping themselves in Engerlaand flags. It saves me having to consult the reference manual.
  11. I always find it strange that those who rant and rave about their Englishness are consistently incapable of writing in anything approaching intelligible English. Or using a spellchecker.
  12. Would you like to rephrase this? Your wording gives the impression that TfL is trying to expel its own employees from the country. TfL has changed nothing. The government visa rules have changed and this affects some TfL staff and their right to work in the UK. As far as I am aware, TfL and the Mayor are working with the unions to try and keep those affected in their jobs.
  13. A padded cell would be closer to the mark.
  14. That’s pretty much what Sultana said about Corbyn the other day and they haven’t even started yet.
  15. So, is that barbershop closed after this fire?
  16. This link should help: https://www.recyclenow.com/recycling-locator
  17. I’d have gone for ‘scorned’.
  18. I was going to post this in the Lost/Found/Stolen. The government shelled out £2.7m for photos of the King for public buildings but take-up wasn’t enthusiastic. But they won’t let on which institutions said yes or no. Has anyone seen one of these portraits locally? I’ll be on the lookout from now on. Over 46,000 public bodies spurned offer of free King Charles portrait | King Charles III | The Guardian
  19. What year is it on your planet? 1925?
  20. What’s really amazing is those who expect society and the built environment to be organised solely for their convenience because they choose to drive a car. A lifestyle choice (for so it is for most drivers) that impacts negatively on us all.
  21. Try emailing Cllr Smith and asking him. Instead of posting rhetorical questions on here seeking validation of your opinions.
  22. So, it was a general crime prevention type leaflet? Not specific to Dulwich Village, not referring to rising crime and certainly not referring to LTNs or road layout changes?
