Hope you find a good dog walker. There are probably some good ones around but it must be a minefield out there! I was in a big local park a few weeks ago and came across a little dog wandering around looking lost. After contacting the owner it turned out they were on holiday abroad! Their dog walker strolled up around 20 minutes later and said they hadn’t even noticed the dog was gone! Couldn’t believe it.

You’re absolutely right Spartacus. Southwark council could have forward planned this a bit more but maybe it’s another plan for more stupid road plans for them to put in place. The new road/pavement design along the M&S and train station is terrible with pavements suddenly jutting out for no reason causing unnecessary stress for cars and bikes and pedestrians. I had the misfortune to be caught in traffic on Wednesday when the roadworks suddenly came into place. It took me 25 minutes to drive from Sainsbury’s dog kennel hill to the goose green roundabout! Cars stuck in lane for ages but then buses appearing on the left bus lane expecting to be let in. Of course this causes mayhem especially if some car drivers just let the buses in as the bus lane has been closed off. Since all the road closures in the area there are no detours in place like there used to be. Hopefully after this disastrous Labour government and local Labour policies we can reverse road closures and restore access for all.

Why it a strange first post Sue? We all have to start somewhere! These kids have created a situation where they have been very unpleasant. Surely their physical appearance etc is a key factor in identifying them? I don’t understand. Are you defending these kids?

Bellenden Rd & North Cross Rd ‘High Streets for People’
Cancerian replied to bels123's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hope all the ‘high streets for people’ events went well! Very short notice probably for people living in the area and on a very hot day! James McAsh just doesn’t know what to do next with Southwark Council Tax payers money. He advocates the few streets in the area that has a bus service and then shuts the routes down! Very annoying for people who want to go about their daily business and have already had restrictions brought in by McAsh. -
Please not James McAsh!

Noise from Wide Awake festival
Cancerian replied to ArmandHelpen1's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It’s the impact the festival has on the community, the people living next door to the park who have to endure the thumping music and worse. Then there’s the park and the state it’s left in and the wildlife, especially nesting birds. All the roads going down Denmark Hill towards the park were closed off and roads off half moon lane and going up towards West Norwood closed off with wardens at each end, who were paid by Lambeth Council to stand there for the 4 days. The festival made the news channels and interviews suggested most of the people attending weren’t fron the local area but places like Ireland and Scotland. I live a 20 minute walk from the park and could hear the thumping music all day and night. Also the wind certainly carried the smell of drugs to my garden! For 4 days I couldn’t believe how strong it was. -
Shame. I wondered why they were asking for donations to help with running costs in last weeks issue. Been buying it for many years but only recently was thinking of giving it a miss as over the past couple of years it had become too politicised. Their South London Opinion page was particularly biased.
