  1. Hi all,

A somewhat speculative post, however a good friend is considering opening up a high quality Japanese restaurant on or around Lordship Lane (subject to finding the right site). Lots of fresh sushi, sashimi, Asian salads and hot dishes etc.

Embryonic at this stage however interested to see if people would value this cuisine locally?

All perspectives valuable. Many thanks in advance!

  2. Hi all,

Just wanted to endorse Pavel Jagodzinski on here - he and his team are absolutely brilliant and make moving day as effortless as it can possibly be. Two weeks ago he moved us into our third property on Whateley Road in East Dulwich.

Pavel runs the business himself and takes real pride in the work he does, his presentation, the way he treats both your valuables and his staff, and will always go above and beyond to provide a better service. Efficient, polite, a real gentleman, very friendly, competitive pricing... and very strong indeed!!

I would highly recommend calling Pavel if you are moving, and would be more than happy to provide more detail if you wish. PM me.

    :-)

  3. Hi all,

We're not getting very far with the council directly, so I was wondering if anyone knows of a surveyor (Party Wall Specialist/generalist who does Party Wall Agreements) who is on the agreed contractor list for Southwark Council??

Odd question, but we are doing a refurb in central East Dulwich and trying to find one to advise both us and the council (who own the next door property) to try and save some money on the fees. Not sure if anyone else has been through this and can help.

    Many thanks in advance!

  4. I merely posted (and then corrected) to make local people aware that there was a very unpleasant event which might have taken place near where they, and likely their families and friends live, so to be vigilant. No underlying tone, no intended inaccuracies, no postcode-snobbery, just purely in line with how other East Dulwich residents post such things in the "General Issues" section of this site. Everyone is clearly entitled to their own opinion however I am now signing out of this dialogue.
  5. Just spoken to my friend and apparently, although it does not make it any better for the poor lady, the attack was actually more Peckham than East Dulwich - on Nigel Road. Basically not too far from the Victoria Inn & the Rye pub .... she was buying a pizza from the shop at 10:30pm and it happened just outside the shop. By the sounds of it, it could have turned out far worse - he was punching her in the face while she was on lying the ground and luckily gave up when someone approached.

Sorry for the spook and lets hope the police get him...

  6. Just found out that a friend's colleague was badly mugged last night in central East Dulwich by a guy in a hoody - he only took the ?20 she had on her, but punched her in the face. She has a black eye, severely swollen face and has lost a tooth. Absolutely horrific. Waiting on confirmation of the time and exact location - shes a bit too shaken up still so don't want to probe further.

I know we all say it, but day or night, you just need to be so aware when walking around alone.

  7. Wow - purely by chance saw this!!! Can't believe the cheek!

My boyfriend's Vesper gets drained nearly everytime he fills it! We are on Underhill Road. Found out the same happens to our neighbour! Now they've cut the pipe and the bike won't start....grrrrr!

Getting him to call the number above to report...

Can't wait for the solution...although not sure what it will be!
