I'm selling this Singer 14u 132A overlocker. I actually acquired it for free from Facebook Marketplace from a lovely woman whose mother-in-law had given it to her. She couldn't get it working, but it seems to be working fine for me, so I'm not entirely sure what was going wrong before! But these older Singer models are known for their solid build and reliability!
While it's generally working, it occasionally skips a stitch or two (see photo of tester material). As with many older machines, it would benefit from a service and good clean to optimize its performance and ensure flawless stitching as it hasn't been used it a while.
Key Features of this machine include:
Convertible Free Arm: Easily transform the flatbed into a free arm, perfect for sewing around small tubular items like cuffs, sleeves, and necklines. - Adjustable thread tension: For perfect stitches on different fabrics.
Adjustable stitch length: Giving you control over the finish of your seams.
Movable knife holder: Allows you to easily move the knife to a non-operating position for specific tasks.
Adjustable presser foot pressure: To accommodate various fabric thicknesses.
It's also capable of rolled hemming, though this requires an additional hemming throat plate which is sold separately.
It comes complete with its original polystyrene box for safe transport, the user manual, power cable, foot pedal, and 10 needles (worth £10). Please note, the three spools of thread seen in photos are not included in the sale, and no other accessories are included beyond those listed (I wasn't given anything else when I got the machine).
You're very welcome to come and test it in person before buying, or I'm happy to show you how to set it up and use it. It's a good option for someone looking for an affordable, dependable overlocker that, with a little care, will continue to do the job.
