  1. Apologies, and I don’t mean this to sound rude, but this is a classic example of someone suggesting an idea that clearly doesn’t live in the affected street. If you painted double yellows and prevented people from parking at the FHR all that would happen is traffic numbers would INCREASE as this is currently the only unappealing reason to use ryedale, and pretty much the only reason to slow down. If it was opened up/made wider it would be awful: even busier and even faster cars. As well as reducing parking spaces for the residents that live there. please trust us residents that currently living on this road with a family has become intolerable and feels like a serious accident waiting to happen. The number of times I have been putting my baby or toddler into the car and vans and cars drive at speeds towards me despite clearly holding a small child. Not to mention the damage that’s been done to resident’s cars. The suggestion that full width speed bumps would solve this is incorrect. It would reduce speed but I don’t believe it would reduce numbers as it would still be more appealing than Dunstans Road which has traffic lights. Please just review the numbers. The fact St Aidan’s asked for traffic measures when they have 14-25% of traffic compared to Ryedale (with a very similar sized road) surely shows how much of a problem this is.
