Apologies, this is behind a paywall. I presume it's flattering. Headline: From Mallaig and Eriskay to Dulwich, these are Britain's 20 most jaw-dropping places to watch football, with hidden gems and stunning backdrops - by groundhopper who's been to more than 5,000 https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-15348905/football-stadiums-uk-groundhopper-guide.html?ico=mail_best_commerce_xp_desktop_2333

Jack Shepherd, actor (Wycliffe, etc). From The Telegraph obituary: "He was himself a proficient playwright. His first play, In Lambeth, was performed at the East Dulwich Tavern in 1989 and started a new career for him writing for the theatre."

Oh wow. I went back to bed after England's fifth over. Only woke up in time for last wicket: bad time to choose sleep! Very slow outfield. Pitch obviously suits bowlers.

Not sure it was worth getting up for. Starc is v dangerous.

I use the two second rule all the time on fast roads.

I live on a school street. While it is true, one has to apply for a permit, there is no charge for it. -

Me too. It has been an abundant year for apples, grapes, rosehips and hawthorn berries. -
Solar control for windows/roof lights

Sash windows are quite effective at reducing heat, but they must be open at the top as well as the bottom to promote good air flow. "...they create great convection, cooling and ventilating a room more efficiently in hot weather." Home Building & Renovating website -
Thank you, I had such a fab time (until the last ball). The atmosphere was electric; most I've enjoyed myself at cricket for the least time. I'm sure Boycott's granny would have wrapped it up with a stick of rhubarb in two overs.

It was the Thirst Dance (rectified with red wine, since you ask. Libations generally work too). Alas, no refund if a ball played on day 5, but I'm sure I'll find a watering hole.

I have tickets for tomorrow. I'm off to do a rain dance.

Bloody hell, this is exciting. I take back everything I said about Archer!

I knew nothing about Kronstadt. Thanks for taking me down a Google wormhole, Dkh.
