This is rather twee, but quite a good idea: https://shop.nationaltrust.org.uk/woolie-the-sheep-with-bird-nesting-wool.html -
I've used Mattress Man twice, can thoroughly recommend. It is worth investing in a good mattress (£400 plus), since you spend a lot of time in bed and they will last for years. I favour a firm well-sprung mattress which I find gives good support. Don't forget to turn your mattress regularly: side to side every couple of months, and top to bottom at least once a year. This will ensure even wear.

Plus ca change During WWI, Vera Brittain worked as a VAD nurse at the 1st London General Hospital, Camberwell - the military extension of St Bartholomew's Hospital. The satellite hostel was nearly two miles away on Champion Hill. "...it seemed strange to be the quarter-possessor of a bare-boarded room divided into cubicles by much-washed curtains of no recognisable colour, with only a bed, a washstand and a tiny chest of drawers to represent one's earthly possessions... to meet the needs of about twenty young women, was one cold bathroom equipped with an ancient and unreliable geyser...which took about twenty minutes to half fill the bath with lukewarm water." Edited to add source: "Testament of Youth" by Vera Brittain published 1933.

Social group for adults with autism
Peckhamgatecrasher replied to sheilarose's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The National Autistic Society UK don't appear to have a Southwark branch, but they offer help if you wish to start your own local one: Join one of our online branches and get to know fellow autistic people with a shared interest, identity or experience. Can't find a branch that's right for you? Why not start up your own? Please email [email protected] for more information. All of our branches' events and activities are individually risk assessed. Please note that compliance with the rules associated with each of these is every attendee's responsibility. -

@MrsR I've seen mistle thrushes on the running track at Peckham Rye Park. I don't know if they're gregarious like starlings, but there were quite a few. -

Vanishing view from Nunhead Cemetery ?
Peckhamgatecrasher replied to KidKruger's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I thought it was a protected view, but this website shows otherwise: London's Protected Views — Richard Gower This site may be of interest: Protected views and tall buildings - City of London Very sad, I always plonk on the bench and admire the view on the few occasions I go to the cemetery. -
