  1. Hello

I am hoping to have a big BBQ in September for a celebration and was looking for some recommendations of people who might be able to run the BBQ for me. I am planning on doing sausages, lamb burgers, spatchcock chicken and something for the vegetarians.

    Thanks

  2. I understand your sentiment. I have been renovating for much longer than I anticipated due to bad builders and workmen. The challenge is it is really difficult to determine who are genuinely good. Initially most tradespeople come across professional but it is typically half way through the job that you tend to encounter the issues.

I do use the forum a great deal for recommendations and have had a mixed experience. I have found some excellent trade?s people who I go onto recommend and others who have not lived up to their praise. Some have suggested I post review and as with Peckhampam I only do if I truly felt I would recommend them to family or friends.

  3. Hello

We are almost (!) coming to the end of our mammoth renovation and are now working on the outside. I am looking for recommendations of companies who supply good quality grass (my husband thinks we can lay it ourselves?). We did think about laying seed but have been warned against it due to the prevalence of cats and foxes in the area digging up the seeds resulting in a patchy finish, but happy for some advice relating to this.

    Thanks in advance

  4. Hello

I am looking for some help with my home and children but a little apprehensive with having someone living with us 24/7. My husband works full time and I work 4 days a week. Ideally we would like someone living with us Mon - Thursday to:

    - help get the children ready in the morning, give them breakfast ready for us to drop at nursery (from September this will include one child being dropped off and pick up from school)

    - 3-3.5 hours daily domestic chores - cleaning, washing, ironing, cooking for the children

    - pick up children from nursery at 5.30 feed and bath ready for bed (giving us flexibility to be late home)

    - one nights babysitting (mon or Tue or Wed)

    - Typically I think we need 5-6 hours a day mon - thurs although I am flexible on times and duration

I am happy to provide board, food, expenses etc. in addition to salary during this time. I need to flexibility of having someone around in case we are late so structured daily hours are difficult.

Does anyone have an arrangement like this and know how I can find this help or am I being unrealistic and I should try an au pair who would fit most of the criteria above.

    Thanks

    Anita
