  1. Thanks edparents. I don't have a problem with giving tax advice in a meeting, especially if a problem is interesting. Sometimes it leads onto Tax Return work and sometimes people return to me after a few years of not hearing anything.
  2. In June, Southwark installed temporary planters at the end of Carlton Avenue, blocking one of the busiest road in Dulwich

I am baffled as to the reason that the council would close a road and under which delegated authority a road can be closed.

I am not really up on the politics of it. Perhaps someone can enlighten me.

Its seems only about a year ago a huge amount of time was spent on street furniture at that junction.

    Pardon my ignorance and naivety

  3. I wondered if anyone had attended an event like these. Are they being held because:

Housing estates have inadequate communal outdoor areas; or

because doing something a bit wrong adds to the buzz of the party?

If an event causes an accident to a passer by, (such a gazebo getting blown over by the wind or a hot coals getting tipped over by a drunken gatecrasher) who holds public liability insurance?

  4. It is also fine by me, provided the events are somehow controlled from becoming a nuisance (keep in mind that there is no door security as such.) Also that there is no littler caused, (let's say that can also be controlled even though there are no cleaners.)

My point was less about the park events and more about lockdown. I guess you have responded that the events are outdoors, so the health is not really the issue I imagined.

I seem to have been outvoted here, so perhaps the licensing laws do need relaxation. It occurred to me that unscheduled park events could get out of hand and lead to incidence of crime. I will just jog on

  5. I have just come back from a late night jog and there were at least two gatherings in the park of more than 20 people.

These includes gazebos, barbecues and outdoor music.

How are the councils and mayor allowing these events to run while forcing nightclubs, casinos and other late night venues to remain closed. It is not fair to the local economy

  6. Just came back from a jog and suddenly they had just demolished it.

I asked the Chinese restaurant guy when it happened. Only time I think I ever been to that particular takeaway. He said it was two years ago.

Relieved to read that it happened more like two weeks ago.

Felt like I was the crazy one for a moment there

  7. Ivan and his team have worked on a complete office refurbishment at my place on Upland Road.

He can turn his hand to most building jobs: Structural installations, dry lining, tiling, fixings and joinery.

He has been reliable and hardworking

(He is here for another couple of weeks so no poaching.)

  8. Thank you for mentioning us and our service. I should however point out that:

Registered office is for Companies House and HMRC purposes. If you appoint us to deal with tax communications on your behalf then the registered office is useful for this.

The facility is only for limited companies, not sole traders

We would not accept other business communications. Our clients cannot hold themselves out as trading from this address.

I would advise that you are probably looking for a mail forwarding service, or as the next step up a virtual office such as Regus.

  9. In reply,

I can recommend Pat on 07841 601974. He has just come and installed fire extinguishers and other signs and notices as required buy health and safety at our offices in East Dulwich.

He was prompt and friendly and carried everything out with no hassle.
