Yet another recommendation for Aria and his team. Needed help with a constantly running toilet. He was able to fit us in at a convenient time, gave us a clear quote and idea of what would probably be needed. On the day Daniel and Jamie were polite and efficient, confirmed Aria's initial diagnosis, bought the parts and were done really quickly. Aria later returned ?20 as the cost of the parts wasn't quite as much as anticipated - appreciated this honesty. Give him a call: 077 3973 4895

Another recommendation for Carl. Put a fence up for us in a really awkward spot. Talked us through several options, and made extra effort on the details to make sure it looked great. Provided all materials, cleared up afterwards, and excellent communication throughout. His mobile is 07841124010

Recommending Plumber - Hunter Heating Solutions
lauram replied to HunterHtingSolutions's topic in Reviews
Another recommendation for Billy at Hunter Heating Solutions. He replaced our boiler last year - was booked up quite far ahead, but called when he had a space and fitted us in as quickly as possible. He is professional and friendly, and installed the new boiler with the minimum of disturbance (around existing tiling and undamaged floorboards). He's since booked us in for a service without us having to remember, so that our warranty remains active. He was again quick and competitively priced on this visit. Extremely pleased with this service: 07986296453 -

Did anyone attend the meeting? We were away, but I did email my comments. Would be interested to find out any decisions. Thanks -
Thanks everyone. We're not hiring a car at the other end, but will give the new company a go and see what they can do. Laura

Hi, Has anyone booked a taxi company that can provide car seats? We need an airport transfer, and would prefer our 18 month and 4 year old to have car seats. Thanks, Laura

Nursery recommendations in ED please ! ! ! !
lauram replied to CLAU's topic in The Family Room Discussion
We were laughed out of town when looking for our son at 4 months old. That being said, when we had to change nurseries very suddenly we were able to find a place pretty quickly. My advice would be to keep calling, be persistent. We're at bright horizons in sainsbury's car park and very happy there. -
East Dulwich Hospital Site Planning Consultation
lauram replied to Charlie Smith's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hi Charlie, I wasn't able to make the meeting and wanted to respond to the consultation online. Flyer and MySouthwark website says should have been available from 22 March, but I cannot find it. Can you please give me an up to date link for the survey. Thanks. -
Recommending Plumber - Hunter Heating Solutions

Another recommendation for Billy. Replaced our boiler and flushed the system over 2 days. Stayed quite late to make sure we had heating and hot water on the evening of day 1 ? especially important with small children. Fitted us in much quicker than originally booked. Provided a detailed quote by email, was punctual, tidy and very clear in his explanation of how everything worked. Nice guy to deal with. -
And another vote for Nicola!

Thanks both. I hadn't realised I might need to pay for a full day when my son's at nursery, so that's worth bearing in mind. Sounds like it very much depends on the CM, but your details on costs are very helpful. Laura

Hello, I'm trying to work out costs for childcare for when I return to work. Can anyone tell me how much it costs to have a childminder do wraparound care, either drop off around 8 and pick up at midday, or drop off at 8, pick up at 3. Also, has anyone had any luck finding a childminder who will do wraparound for a toddler, combined with whole day with baby sibling, or will I need to look for 2 different childminders? Any advice appreciated. Thanks, Laura

toddler walking after leg cast removal ?
lauram replied to dibden's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Our son fractured his leg when he was 3. Had a full leg cast for 4 weeks. Had exactly same situation as you, with straight legged walking and turned out foot once cast came off. It's now 2 months later and you can't even tell it happened. Worrying, I know, but give it some time. We actually went back to the fracture clinic and had him checked over about 2 weeks after the cast came off, and I think this encouraged him to walk on it a little more as they said everything was fine, and I don't think he wanted to go in again!
