Really good service. Good bread. And very accommodating when we had to outwit our clever resident fox.

Awful experience at GMs hairdressers :(
Monkey replied to Jellybeanz's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Oh no, sorry to hear this, CWO. I once left GM’s with a hole in my extremely thick hair. But this wasn’t my worst haircut which came courtesy of the now-defunct Galleon where I got a proper 1980’s mullet. It is getting very rare now to get a hairdresser who has actually gone to hairdressing college. A lot of them are walk-ins who just get trained on the job. They’re not hairdressers - just people with a pair of scissors in their hands. When I used to go to GM’s 15 years ago, the girl who used to cut my hair was the only one out of all the staff who had gone to hairdressing college (she then left and that is how I ended up with a bad haircut) Kuki always gets excellent reviews here so I’d try them. And l’ll see if I can share my hairdresser’s details. -
Burst pipe in underhill road near barry road
Monkey replied to tedfudge's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
What a mess this morning. The back roads around Goodrich are full of diverted traffic. Nearly got hit by an obscenely-sized blue Audi (AE71… please get this obscenity off the ED roads or at the very least learn how to drive it.) -

Reposession notice on marias tortilla

Very sad to hear. It was a lovely place and the food was gorgeous. I hope Maria is okay. I use independents on Lordship Lane and Dulwich Village a lot already but will double down on my efforts. We’re so lucky to have them. Was up North for my holiday this year and so many high streets have been taken over by chains which then close and leave shops empty. It’s all really sad and really wrong. -
It’s Mons all the way for us. Super friendly. And they know their customers . They even asked me why I bought so much Comté. LOL. This is the cheese from my area in France and I eat it without thinking. I LOVE their Fourme d’Ambert, one of the oldest cheeses in France. Much creamier than Roquefort and much cheaper too. Also love their selection of goats cheese - and the fact that they regularly discount cheeses that have ripened a bit too much, which is how I like my cheese. Been lobbying them to make Fromage Fort, which is a hit like potted cheese. You take old leftover cheeses and ferment them in white wine. If other Burgundians are in the area, please join the lobbying effort. Heritage cheese used to sell an absolutely amazing Gouda from Cornwall and I really enjoyed this but they’ve stopped selling it. Can’t comment on Cheese Block - so grumpy in there I’ve stopped going in. Perhaps I’m missing out.

Hi Jason - we had very difficult neighbours at some stage. Differently so from yours - aggressive, drinking fairly heavily etc… I tried to accommodate their many demands (and their huge dog who howled all day and used our garden as his toilet) until one day, I just started ghosting them. Cut off contact entirely, blocked their mobile phone number, ignored them when they tried to speak to me. I point blank refused to deal with them, including when they needed my signature to extend the lease to secure their new mortgage, which really panicked them. This proved highly effective and they moved soon after (after I made them sweat to sign the freehold docs they needed) I don’t know if you want to do the same if there is a personality disorder involved. But if you do, make sure all your paperwork is in order and there’s absolutely nothing you need from them. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. It’s really unpleasant.

Noise from Wide Awake festival

It’s really noisy tonight. Right in the middle of exam season.🙄 -
You clearly haven’t used the bus for a while. Full of Harris boys.

Would have been nice for Southwark to spare a thought for kids doing exams at this time of year. I expect a lot of them will get very stressed trying to reach their destination. And another note, take care if you’re cycling. There were a lot of HGVs when I came back at lunchtime yesterday. Also some dangerous driving as drivers became irate after being stuck for ages.

They’re rated as requiring improvement. And it seems that the care quality commission is keeping an eye on them. https://www.cqc.org.uk/location/1-565650623/inspection-summary It’s taken so long to get to this stage. See this article published in 2011: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2063458/amp/Family-doctors-firm-raking-1-8m-YEAR--patients-say-surgery-appalling.html We moved to The Gardens some time ago and never looked back.
