  1. Hi everyone,

Unfortunately I'm unable to make it to the Plough this Saturday, but I have the next one in 2 weeks already in the diary.

Also, due to having a toddler with me all week I can't make the weekday meet ups at Green and Blue, although they sound so lovely and civilised... instead I'm aiming to make a playground meet tomorrow. If anyone wants to join please let me know

  2. Hi again,

just a reminder I'll be at goose green playground tomorrow morning with my 2 year old boy, when there's a break from the rain... hope to see some of you then.

Will send a PM to browncoffee now, and anyone else planning to come maybe send me a PM and we can swap numbers?

Also hoping to meet up next Saturday 28th at the Plough, as I missed the 14th.

Hope everyone is happy and growing!

  3. Umm, do we need a Summer Babies Club events co-ordinator?

The next meet up would be Saturday 10th of March, but time (2pm again ok?) and venue TBA - the Bishop and Plough have both been mentioned... anyone need to bring their child/ toddler along? Luckily I don't, I'm off the childcare hook on weekends!

For anyone around on Fridays, especially (but not exclusively) those with toddlers, I've suggested another playground/ park meet-up on the 23rd March.

  4. Hello ladies, and welcome to the new joiners... nice to see some more of us with toddlers too!

On Friday morning I was thinking of getting my son into one of the baby swings at 10am, so anyone who turns up can join us there? I'm sure it won't take long until all the little ones are running off in different directions (so it may be difficult to keep a conversation going!)

    Hope everyone is feeling well

  5. Don't be scared of Thailand! We went to Club Med Phuket last August when our son was 18 months old.

We booked him in for the full week of the creche - which was brilliant - although we could take him out for the afternoon or day if we wanted to do something together. It was run like a nursery with a separate area and staff for the under twos, they even had their own pool (really shallow covered by shade cloth) and daily activities. The staff were excellent.

It wouldn't have been our first choice for a holiday pre-kids, but it turned out to be perfect for us because of the facilities for our little one - happy baby, happy family!

By the way, our son did spend the entire flight running up and down the aisles! Happy to answer any other questions, too.

  6. I'm blonde and wearing a frumpy pink maternity top today (Australian accent obviously, but I can't think of any other distinguishing features...) looking forward to meeting some of the group later.

Also I was going to mention I have my anomaly scan (22 weeks) on Friday morning but I'm free in the afternoon, or 24th I'm free all day. Hoping the weather has improved by then so I can suggest meeting at goose green playground, if others live around that way?

  7. Saturday is good for me, I can leave my toddler with his dad... Any suggestions on how we can recognise each other? I think my bump is huge, but a lot of people haven't noticed that I'm pregnant.

nbb - I'm around most Fridays, would be good to have a bump n' toddler meet up

Kristymac - sorry to hear; no advice I'm afraid but I do feel for you having to give up chocolate muffins (a weakness of mine too!)

  8. Hi,

we have the kiddy guardian pro; bought it a couple of months ago for our (now) 19 month old. Chosen because of the which? safety reports and because it's easy to move between cars. We don't own a car but do hire cars/ use street cars/ get taxis so we needed to be sure it would fit any make of car. The impact shield thing does look a little strange at first but my son doesn't seem to mind it at all (he falls asleep in cars instantly anyway) He's at the age now where he can wiggle out of a 5-point harness so we're glad it doesn't have/need one. I'm not sure at what age or weight you stop using the impact shield, so this might be irrelevant for your 3 year old.

We got it from John Lewis Bluewater where we "tried it on" - i.e. they have a car seat set up there for trying out different models, this was really helpful for us to get our heads around how it worked with just the car seatbelt.

Hope this helps, but let me know if you need any more info
