  1. Thank you for your kind well-wish messages for my Dad I will pass on your support. You will be pleased to know he is out of hospital and is doing well. Now we have had all had time to sound our vuvuzelas, its a good time to take stock of what has happened and learn from it and address the issues that affect us locally. Whilst the timings of the lights were probably not the root cause of the crash they are haphazard and often (I find at least) poorly timed. I have come through at 3 am to find the lights on a go slow and yet at 7am they have changed pattern and letting only a couple of cars through at a time. the sequencing is something we need to petition the council to adjust or implement the traffic signals that dynamically change according to traffic flow. Personally I am against the use of red light enforecment cameras as they generate revenue without resolving the root cause of the problem. What do others think??
  2. As and when I find out what happend I will let you know. However the police have told me this and so this is all I can rely on and treat it as the truth: 1) A man jumped the lights in a stolen car 2) the stolen car hit a car which was spun around into on coming traffic 3) two other cars were involved - no details about their damage or how they were damaged 4) police personell apprehended the man at the scene from this you can infer what happened. but it is an eyewitness who will be able to say exactly what happend in what order and by whom.
  3. I got a call from a sargent saying I had to get to the hospital quick as he was critical but thats the only news I gotformally from the police. Dad is doing well, hes stable. still undergoing tests for any long term damage. lucky to be alive no thanks to that piece of scum. I have heard (I cannot varify this though) the a-hole is out of hospital and out on bail. I dispair I really do, where is the justice??
  4. It is interesting to hear of the spate of petrol thefts in the area, Car crime seems to be noticably increasing in the east dulwich area in the past few years, My car had one of its rear wheels stolen overnight sat/sun just off of Forest Hill Road SE22, its not a flashy car but a run of the mill 8 year old ford, the interesting thing is having spoken to my neighbours have had break-ins and vandalism to their cars and everyone seems to have either have been a victim of crime or knows of someone who has been a victim. Whilst the statistics show a proportion of the crime, there is an amount that is not reported which will not help any arguement for extra patrols, CCTV installations or further investigations by the police. It is important that every crime is reported.
