  1. Mr J Young is an experienced local tutor teaching all GCSE sciences - Bio, Chem, Physics - and AS and A2 Biology.

    He is personable, passionate and committed to his pupil?s success. We found his supportive role in our daughters AS Biology study, revision and exam preparation invaluable with a notable increase in her subject knowledge and understand and confidence.

    Mr Young is always interested in future jobs and can be contacted at;

  2. Speaking of uneven pavements, and this is directed at James, can we please get the pavement sorted outside numbers 16 - 6 Melbourne Grove. They have never been right since the works were done in the not too distant past, I have flagged this twice to the council and they are still unsightly and potentially dangerous. Appreciated!
  3. Hi all,

    same old chestnut I know, called for appointment, it is not urgent but the next available is 16 days away. I have booked but am getting fed up with this. Yes it is the NHS, yes we are inner London, yes population has grown but just wondered if people knew what Melbourne Grove Practice is like for appointments? Where else SE22 based would people recommend?

  4. Hello all. As some of you may know there will be a rare opportunity to see Venus in front of the sun early this Tues during sunrise. I was thinking of viewing from Dawson Heights, if no overcast!!! Do people know of any other decent vantage points locally?

    Many thanks and enjoy the Jubilee all!

    Oh, just to add and make clear, this is to see the sun from sunrise, so from the East at a low point in the sky.

  5. 'Love to know how you know their evenings are drug fuelled?'

    That is a fair question. This happened a lot last summer. Both my neighbours and I noted this as they were up till stupid o-clock and conversation was not just alcohol fuelled; coherent in voice and yet not in thought. plus certain odours or sounds are a clue.

    Thanks all to your advice so far. It has given me an idea of what to do next. Do not worry Alan Medic, I understood your anecdote and it made me smile. I also agree with giggirl about avoiding childish games, hence why I am seeking other people's opinion before action.

  6. There is a property near-by inhabited by a group of young people. They can be noisy. Yesterday and today they have been playing capital radio at full blast with a loud bass system which can be heard clearly doors away. They live three properties away on another road and I could hear / make out every word from their radio even indoors with the doors and windows shut.

    It is far from peaceful and as they normally have loud drunken / drug fuelled summer evenings, I am now concerned this is going to be a daily routine as well. I feel like I am in a youth resort on the med during the summer season.

    I just wondered if people have had a similar situation and how they dealt with it.

    Thanks.

  7. Maybe terminate at Clapham Junction - 337 goes via Putney as do South West Trains from CJ, other routes go to Wandsworth - and increase frequency of buses. The W7 in Finsbury Park to Alexandra Palace runs every 6 mins; something of comparison with the operations of the 37 would make the route more popular and more reliable. Quick access to Herne Hill, Brixton, Clapham Common and 'Battersea' Junction are important.

    Just my opinion.

  8. Oh yeah, forgot about that! Whoops, thanks for the highlight. I suppose bus to Forest Hill then overground for Jubilee might be best option, regardless people need to factor in extra travel time because of this. Feel sorry for the driver, those injuried and the shop which got it's front absolutely wrecked. Camberwell Therapy Rooms got badly hit!
  9. Quick update. Am in Camberwell now, spoke to a police man, he said it's a big job and that bus diversions definately into the night and likely into tomorrow. What with the rail down I would advise all to plan a bit more ahead, buses diverting at Goose Green via Peckham then to Camberwell Green. If you need speed maybe 37 to Brixton then tube-age!? Remember getting off at St Matthews estate saves time than waiting for Lambeth Town Hall stop.
