  1. DULWICH SOCIETY - SPRING GARDENS TALK


    Helen Yemm on ?The modern cottage garden?

    This year?s Spring talk will be given by Helen Yemm, who writes the weekly Thorny Problems column in The Daily Telegraph. Helen?s talk, ?The modern cottage garden? builds on her experience of establishing gardens in both London and in West Sussex, where she now lives. Helen?s books include the RHS Grow your own flowers and Gardening in Pyjamas: horticultural advice for obsessive dawn raiders.


    After the talk there will be an opportunity to meet Helen over a glass of wine.

  2. Spring gardens talk ? Troy Scott Smith on ?Sissinghurst ? revitalising Vita?, Thursday 22nd March


    This year?s Dulwish Society Spring Talk will be given by Troy Scott Smith, the Head Gardener at Sissinghurst Castle Garden.


    Troy will tell us about the 7-year project that he and his team are carrying out to revitalise the gardens to reflect Vita Sackville West?s vision for Sissinghurst ? a celebration of beauty, romance, intimacy and emotion. The talk is in the Lecture Theatre, Alleyn?s School, Townley Road, SE22 8SU at 7.30pm on Thursday 22nd March, with the opportunity to meet Troy after the talk over a glass of wine.

  3. Spring gardens talk - Matt Keightley on ?The Chelsea Experience?


    7.30pm Thursday 23rd March 2017 at the Lecture Theatre, Alleyn?s School, Townley Road, London SE22 8SU


    This year?s spring talk will be by Matt Keightley. Matt was awarded a Silver Gilt Medal at the 2014 RHS Chelsea Flower Show for his ?Help for Heroes? Show Garden. Working with Prince Harry for his charity Sentabale, he was awarded a second Silver Gilt Medal at the 2015 RHS Chelsea Flower Show for his ?Hope in Vulnerability? Show Garden. Matt also received the BBC People?s Choice Award for Best Show Garden for both gardens.


    Matt?s talk will focus on ?The Chelsea Experience?, telling us about his journey to Chelsea, getting show gardens just right, and life after Chelsea. After the talk, there will be the opportunity to meet Matt Keightley over a glass of wine

  5. The Dulwich Society Garden Group is sponsoring a front garden competition in 2016.


    The competition is open to all households in the Dulwich area.


    The closing date for entry is 31 May, and judging will take place in June.


    The judges will take into account initial impact (those vital first impressions), the design and arrangement of the garden, planting and the quality of husbandry.


    Prizes will be awarded: the Front Garden of the Year, ?100 Garden Voucher; five Gold Prizes of ?50 Garden Vouchers, and five Silver Prizes of ?25.
