  1. oh I expect they come from the 'Peckham' end of LL...(unbelievable comment that one)

To be fair, i think that was in response to the following comment made by edcam suggesting that The Plough end of LL wasn't in ED.

But does that far down Lordship Lane even really qualify as East Dulwich? It would be interesting to know where such a proposed supermarket would be as there's a big difference between the main bit of Lordship Lane and The Plough end.

  2. Thats what i thought fushia. I could end up getting neither Goodrich or Heber if i dont get into dulwich and Village.

Heber is less than 400 mts, Goodrich about 500, and DV is about 800. Thats the order i think i need to put down, even though the actual order of preference is the opposite! What is making decision more difficult is i know that the intake is increasing at DV next year due to the permanent expansion. Effectively , there is 1 more reception class.....which surely increases my chances of getting in?

  3. Thanks James

My understanding from seeing threads from previous years is that tactically, you need to put your closest community school as No1 choice even if it may not be your first choice of school.

Ive looked around Goodrich and Heber and even though I liked Goodrich better and in order to make sure I got one of my 1st 2 choices, i should put Heber down as my first choice.....because its my closest school.

If I put Goodrich as 1st choice, I would lose out to people who live closer to Goodrich and who put it down as their first choice. Consequently, I would move down the pecking order for a place at Heber because it wasnt my 1st choice of school....

On the flip side, I dont want to put Heber down as my 1st choice as it isnt my first choice!

The comment regarding Dulwich and Village enfants having a bulge class next year has made the situation even more confusing for me! I didnt even think that was an option until now.

  4. Its all so confusing. I live on Landells Road. I have a daughter who will start school in Sept 2011.

The nearest (community) school to me is Heber and 2nd is Goodrich. Dulwich & Village Enfants is about 850 Mtrs away.

I'd love my daughter to go to D&V enfants (having read the ofsted reports) but this whole allocation/application thing is starting to stress me out already.

Am i jeopardising my chances of getting in to either Heber or Goodrich if I put down D&V as my 1st choice and subsequently dont get in? If she did get in, do I have more of a chance of her getting into Dulwich junior school than if she went to Heber or Goodrich?

Are the stats out showing this years allocation showing who got in where and under what criteria?

  5. no cat sh1t for 2 days since i tipped a potty full of p*ss over the flowerbeds.

    Moth balls dont work.

    black pepper didnt work

    plastic bottles didnt work

I'm currently winning the battle but I think the cat has made only a tactical but temporary retreat.

I do scare the cat off whenever i see it but it does its business in the middle of the night so i've not been able to square up to it whilst committing the act!

  6. The cat is out there now mocking me. Sat on the bay window sill looking into my lounge.

I'll try the onions idea today and get some slate chips when I next go to B&Q.

By the end of the day my front garden (and it's only tiny) will be strewn with pee, onions, moth balls, plastic bottles and a sprinkling of black pepper.

Mmm.. Maybe cat sh1t ain't so bad!

  7. I can't stop my neighbours cat from doing it's business in my flower bed outside the front of my house.

I've tried plastic bottles, my daughters wee (from her potty), pepper and moth balls.

Does anyone have any other suggestions? If I don't find something soon I won't be held responsible for my actions! Im sure the cat just sits and watches me try all these things with a smirk on it's face!

    I will not be defeated!!!
