  1. Interested in doing some volunteering in the local community?

Education charity Action Tutoring are looking for volunteers in Peckham and south London, to support local young people from disadvantaged backgrounds with their maths and English (no previous tutoring experience required).

Give just one hour a week of your time and help those young people, who wouldn?t otherwise have access to this support, to develop their subject knowledge and boost their confidence and attitude towards learning.

Action Tutoring currently have opportunities available in Camelot Primary School (SE15 1QP) on Tuesdays at 8:30am and Hollydale Primary School (SE15 2AR) on Thursdays at 8:00am, with other secondary schools coming on board soon. You?ll receive training, workbooks, ongoing development and you'll be making a positive difference to young lives in your local community. Apply straight away at: http://www.tfaforms.com/332860 or visit www.actiontutoring.org.uk for more information.

  2. Hi,

We're looking to do a bathroom project renovation for our house in the Peckham area - current bathroom is quite small and only has a shower, no bath. We want to extend into the next door bedroom and remove the chimney breast in it, in order to enlarge the bathroom space and have a new one fitted. It's proving quite tricky to find good recommendations for this as it's not just a straightforward bathroom re-fit, so any help appreciated! Hoping to get it underway January time.

    Thanks!

    Susannah

  3. Hi ED forum, I run an education charity working with schools across London and excitingly we've just signed up our first school in Dulwich. We offer GCSE tutoring to pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds who are at risk of leaving school without basic qualifications. This school is near North Dulwich station and has a cohort of pupils eligible for free school meals who would really benefit from some individual support with their English. They wouldn't be able to afford tutoring otherwise.

The commitment is just for a few weeks, with tutoring taking place from 12-1.30pm at the school.

You'd be tutoring English language but you don't need to be a qualified teacher, training and resources are provided. Find out more at: www.actiontutoring.org.uk or apply directly: http://www.tfaforms.com/332860

Could you give up just a small amount of time to help a local child succeed at a crucial point in their education?
