I was shocked to read that this is all being organised by ex-public school chaps. And from North London, too. Outrageous.

Does anyone have any knowledge of Nunhead's El Vermut opening on Grove Vale, opposite the Cherry Tree?

Anyone know what?s going on at the LL Coop? Have I missed something?

Had a highly important delivery (Royal Mail Tracked - what a joke) go AWOL during the ?move? from ED to Peckham. Decided to try the Peckham office, but with no
expectation of success. Queue of 25 people - my heart sank. But the young guy who served me truly could not have been friendlier or more helpful - bent over backwards to find the missing item. Exemplary service - even if despite his efforts he couldn?t track it down. Royal Mail 0/10 but Peckham sorting office counter staff 11/10.

Literally anything you say will be better than the tossy crap on that website.

Anyone know why they've taken down the fence made of old WW2 stretchers, alongside the flats on DKH? They were in the paper recently - coincidence?

Quite right Sue!!

Have used the carpet shop for years. Always exceptionally friendly and helpful. And, like Lynne, they've let me have a carpet remnant at below ticket price.

Charmanar should have gone shopping yesterday in Peckham when she had the chance!!!!!

Equally politically incorrect, but wouldn't it be nice if, just occasionally, galleries and museums had a child-free afternoon or evening? Even better, tourist-free / noise free / idiot free. Then you could actually contemplate the pictures - which is presumably what the galleries are there for - rather than pushing your way through loads of sugar-high school parties with inane "worksheets" or vacuous tourists taking selfies and nattering about nothing....

Another strong recommendation for Paul from Paw On The Button. Fixed our Applemac problem promptly, expertly and with minimum fuss. Extremely competitive pricing, too. And he's a really nice guy. Deserves to do well. His (nascent) website is www.pawonthebutton.co.uk.

Dunno about the breakfast offerings but the bread and patisseries are all amazingly good. Pains au chocolat are the best ive ever tasted, anywhere. And the staff are super-nice in my experience, far better than incompetent teenagers that Luca employed.

If the cemetery is going to take more burials a toilet block is an excellent idea. You don't want to be caught short attending a funeral. They already have toilets at Camberwell New Cemetery. And even if it's not to cater for more burials, a toilet block is hardly going to decimate the local flora and fauna. Better than forcing people to perform behind graves.

Boulangerie Jade do the best pain au chocolat ever, and just about the nicest bread I've ever come across - pain campagnard. (Dunno why I'm telling people this, as it just increases the risk that they'll sell out...)

Daniel and Chris have just done a brilliant job for me sorting out some taxing plumbing issues. Very impressed by their can-do approach, prompt service, attention to detail and great customer friendliness.
