Thanks for the feedback, I'll give it a go on Monday and will be avoiding the first carriage thanks!

In terms of alternative routes during the overtime ban I've been avoiding using the rail service altogether during the evening. The removal of the 17.50pm train means I'd be hanging around a stressed out London Bridge for about half an hour. Then often just as the 18.08 train is due it suddenly changes to "Delayed" and you have no idea how long to wait.

Weather permitting I've been walking it which takes exactly an hour at a power-walk. Otherwise I get the no.40, though I'm lucky it's second stop is near where I work so I can actually get on it. It's not much quicker than walking though!

  2. Rather oddly the 17.50 London Bridge to Wimbledon calling at East Dulwich was back on the timetable last night. I caught it home. Doesn't appear to be running this eve.

I've found the service actually better this week while the strike has been on. Guess that will now change since it's been suspended tomorrow and Friday.

The 5.40 also ran on Tuesday, again with just 4 carriages.

Likewise, 6.55 and 7.09 cancelled. I also noted the 6.17 was cancelled so only one out of the four scheduled trains from 6.17 ran. Warming us up for next week?

Have put my first claim in and preparing to repeat the process many times next week.

One less peak train in the morning as the 8.02 terminates at South Bermondsey.

  6. I moved to this area at the end of November last year, previously I lived near Alleyns School. I much prefer where I am now. As mentioned, easy access to 3 stations and a fairly quiet location - my only noise complaint has been from foxes in the back garden. Also close to Bellenden Road.

I've yet to have any issues nor feel unsafe walking to and from East Dulwich Station through Dog Kennel Hill estate at any time of day. In general it's usually pretty deserted walking along Quorn Road.
