  1. I met with Renata on Saturday morning and caught up on the discussions the council have been having. This has been covered before, but basically, there is money to rebuild the 1o'clock but not to keep the new building staffed & running. This funding ends next April.

2 local Children Centres are in discussion with the council over running the 1o'clock club in the new building. This sounds promising but I think we need to show our support further. This is our opportunity to get involved with the council & influence the plans. I'm going to start a petition so it is clear how many people care about it's future.

Renata has suggested we have another meeting in the next few weeks at the 1o'clock club so she can answer any questions we have and update us on the progress. I think as many of us as possible should go along so the council know we care.

Would Wed 16th Nov suit many people? Please post on here if you're interested in coming along or if a saturday morning would be better?

    Thanks

    Donna.

  2. It's great to see all the support from the parents, and feed back from Southwark Council. Thank you for your help Claire.

As you can see from the feed back this is a well used community facility. About 1000 children use the 1 o'clock club each month so I hope there is a way to keep this up & running (as has happened with the libraries - fantastic!).

I don't have much free time as my toddler & baby keep me very busy, but I will keep checking this post and add any info I get to keep you all updated. For some reason the face book page link doesn't copy, but search for '1 0'clock club campaign' & you'll find it.

Keep your comments & support coming in.

    Thanks

    Donna.

  3. Hello,

I am a local mum & have been taking my 2 children to the 1o'clock in Peckham Rye for nearly 2 years now, so when I heard that there that it was under threat of closure, I was very upset.

I have started a face book page to try to rally some help in campaigning against it's closure. If it is something that will affect you, please join the group so we can show some strong numbers. I haven't done anything like this before so any advise or support anyone can give will be great.

    Here's the like

  4. I'm from Bexhill about 5 miles along the cost from Hastings. Although haven't lived there for about 10 years, I visit family frequently. It depends what you're looking for, but Hsstings is very mixed & has a good local art scene & local musicians frequently play in the pubs there. It's got some nice tea shops & galleries but of course it has a tack-tastic side to, but that's half the shabby charm.
