  1. I get the 40 to and from work. I normally leave the house around 5am. I have been known to get the first 40 of the day, which if anyone is interested is 3:15am. People get on at most of the stops. It?s mostly cleaners, coffee shop workers etc. I?m going to switch to cycling. How safe that will be at 5am I will find out next week......
  2. I miss Concorde too, the noise doesn?t bother us either. The flight path was there 25 years ago when we moved in. I used to live in East Anglia and the RAF supply plans flying over and so low you couks see the pilot was a lot louder.

Where ever you are in the city you are going to be close to a flight path. I?m guessing you don?t mind when you fly away on holiday or for business.

  3. We are one of these people with a dropped curb driveway. It was done before we moved in, It was one of the reasons that we brought the house. As for taking away parking spaces I am happy for somebody to put it back to a front garden, then we would be taking up 3 parking spaces on the road....instead of the one we take up ( two cars and a motorbike)Also both working full time leaving early and getting home late I struggle to keep the back garden in a reasonable state. I'm guessing an unkept front garden would be an improvement to the road? And the person who put the snotty note through my front door a few years ago, SIGN YOU NAME if you would like to complain. We had lived in the same house for 20 years before somebody starts insinuating that we a upstarts moving in.
  4. My daughter is now 18 and we have lived in the area for the last 19 years, she has been in most of the pubs along Lordship lane when she was younger, she was sat down and given a book or colouring pencils by me, she knew not to run around or scream. She is now anti alcohol ( not like her dad and I!)I would love to go into a pub where I could enjoy a drink without having children screaming or running around or putting dirty hands on my clean white trousers with no apologies from the parents. I have been to the Flying Pig twice now for food, Both times there have been children in there screaming the place down. If for any reason my daughter acted like that when she was younger, we would either take her outside or leave. I've done my time now I would like my pint in peace! And as for kids on scooters, The adults on the scooters with them are just as bad!!!
  5. very upset by this. We have been going to there since it was the mexican! and it has always had the same guy running/owning it ( We have lived here for 18 years) one thing guarantee to put me off is a chain! I won't be going! Lordship Lane is loosing it's charm and character.
  6. Yet again, people that believe what's featured in the News without in-depth research or only pick out what they want people to read as scare tactic. Fluoride is not harmful in small does. It is good for children's teeth, and the australians have excellent teeth because of fluoride in the water. the rate of children's decay is lower in areas with fluoride. Otta is it the flavour that your little one doesn't like? if not there is now a toothpaste with no flavours added but does have fluoride.
  7. I know how horrible it is to have this happenn to you, with us they broke while we were sleeping. It was my husbands first night home after working away for two weeks. I dread to think what would of happened if he hadn't been home. At the time we had a yale lock and a chub lock but only used the chub when we went out. now the chub and yale are both locked wether I am in or not and we installed window locks and restricters on all windows. We were lucky they only got my handbag and my husbands wallet which were both on the hall table. I did wake up and chase the guy down the street but couldn't catch him ( It was 3am) It took me a very long time to feel safe in my home again.
  8. I didn't name which hairdresser charged me that much. But my last hairdressing bill in Dulwich was ?185 for a cut and colour 5 years ago. My last bill from my current hairdresser was ?95. I try and support local buisness all the time even if it cheaper for me to buy from chains or get big companys to building work for us we always ask local buisness to quote for work. They are normally more expensive but we go with them to support the local economy. What you failed to pick up on was the comment about poor customer service that I recevied and the lack of customer service. I don't mind paying extra if I get good service.
  9. I have been living in Dulwich for 15 years and spent the first 2 years traveling 125 miles to get me haircut and colored, then decided to give the Hairdressers in Dulwich a try. Went to Village Way but they put me off when the stylist left and they just put me in with somebody else without asking me if this was ok. Went to Willis B - Just plain rude. Partridges didn't care who you were or what you wanted. Have now defected to town and have the best hairdresser with awesome service. I think they have the best customer service ever!! They could easily teach others and over ?100 cheaper! they work late nights and all I have to do is jump on the bus to get there.
