  1. **reduced** and *dimensions added*

I am selling the two ghost chairs. The seat is made from a hard transparent plastic and the legs are metal.

    The approximate dimensions are:

    height - 86cm

    width - 46cm

    depth - 43cm

There are signs of use, but still have plenty of life in them.

Collection SE23 near Forest Hill pools, may be able to drop of in SE22/21 for £5

  2. FYI: ExCel are operating a one way system within the venue, so the nearest station to get into the ExCel is Custom House and when leaving it will be Prince Regent.

If you decide to get the Jubilee line and the interchange at Canning Town is busy, it is a 20 minute walk.

There is more info here (if you have not already seen it)

  3. Just finishing Agent Zigzag. The incredible true story of Eddie Chapman, a criminal turned double agent in the second world war. Ben Macintyre has trawlled meticulously through MI5 archives to tell his story.

I think MI5 said if the story was ficton, it would have rejected by editors as being unbelivable.

    Thoroughly enjoyed it.

  4. I am not too sure what your budget it, but......

With regard to hiring tube stations, I know London Underground do hire disused stations. For further details see:

http://www.tfl.gov.uk/corporate/media/10484.aspx. You would have to contact them at their head office in 55 Broadway

I went to an art installation at the Kingsway underpass a couple of years ago. It is an amazing space that has not been redecorated since the Second World War. See link for pictures.

I fear the above will be too pricey. Closer to home you could try either

    The horniman museum (http://www.horniman.ac.uk/)

Or the new artist space in Forest Hill - Canvas and Cream, although I do not know if they could accommodate 80 people

    Good Luck

  5. Maybe strictly not in keeping with the title of the thread, but Michael Bolton's image put me off listening to his music. However, after being directed to his back catalogue on you tube today he actually has a decent voice and a couple of tunes that aren't half bad.

The alternative answer is chocolate, having throwing up a large bar of Aero after being knocked unconscious at school. This was then re-enforced after the rast dropping in Mars bars story in the 80's (I am now wondering if I made imagined that story?)

  6. Jack, age 92, and Gill, age 89 are all excited about their decision to get married. They go for a stroll to discuss the wedding, and on the way they pass a chemist shop and Jack suggests they go in.

Jack addresses the man behind the counter:

    "Are you the owner?"

    The pharmacist answers, "Yes."

Jack: "We're about to get married. Do you sell heart medication?"

    Pharmacist: "Of course we do."

Jack: "How about medicine for circulation?"

    Pharmacist: "All kinds"

    Jack: "Medicine for rheumatism?"

    Pharmacist: "Definitely."

    Jack: "How about suppositories?"

    Pharmacist: "You bet!"

Jack: "Medicine for memory problems, arthritis, and Alzheimer's?"

Pharmacist: "Yes, a large variety. The works.."

Jack: "What about vitamins, sleeping pills, antidotes for Parkinson's disease?"

    Pharmacist: "Absolutely.."

Jack: "Everything for heartburn and indigestion?"

    Pharmacist: "We sure do..."

Jack: "You sell wheelchairs and walkers and canes?"

    Pharmacist: "All speeds and sizes."

    Jack: "Adult incontinence pants?"

    Pharmacist: "Sure."

Jack: "Then we'd like to use this store for our wedding presents list..."

  7. There is a good pub quiz at the Hob (opp. Forest Hill Station) on a Thursday. Starts at 9pm and hosted each week by a different comedian.

The CPT used to run a really good quiz (on a Wednesday) until it was taken / made over. Does anyone know if the couple that ran it are now hosting a quiz elsewhere?
