  1. If you love singing then come along on Thursday night 7- 9 to the Horniman.

Raise the Roof Community Choir is a natural voice, open access community choir based at the Horniman Museum.

No choral experience necessary and no audition - everyone is welcome.

You can join for the term or drop in at anytime .

  2. Hi, I am having a mini panic about a secondary school place for my son next year and just about to fill in the application. But so confused by Kingsdale- we are not doing the scholarship ( as he is not sporty or musical but we live very close to the school. SO do I just apply via Southwark and keep my fingers tightly crossed? Do I have to book the banding test or does the school get in touch ?
  3. I wouldn't worry especially if his nursery are saying they understand him and have no concerns. My son had speech therapy when he was four as his nursery found it difficult to understand what he was telling them. He was talking about dinosaurs a lot of the time (and some had very long names !) I don't think the speech therapy helped him much and in the end made him more aware that he had difficultly with some sounds. The biggest change I noticed was when he started school - within the first term his speech improved lots. I think being around other children and all the phonics and learning to read that they do helped him so much . I honestly think don't worry.
