Sadly I had a very different experience with Vince; after agreeing to do some jobs for me and saying how hard he would work etc he then not only didn?t bother turning up but also didn?t bother answering his phone leaving me in the lurch just as I was expecting visitors staying which we discussed. Not great unfortunately:-(

Another shout out to Shaun; one of the VERY few reliable tradesmen in Dulwich..last one messed me around twice, didn?t turn up & couldn?t be bothered to let me know; now won?t give my house keys back for sone reason! one before left place an absolute disaster.. not that I?m still annoyed!?!
Shaun is none of that; busy but reliable. Would recommend him without hesitation

Hi
Looking for a decorator / good handyman to paint bedroom (circa 4mx4m), replace coving around the top and skirting which will be supplied; woodwork for four doors and architrave.
The bedroom has a bay window on one side and fixed wardrobe on the other which reduces area to paint hugely albeit there is a small amount of wallpaper to remove and radiator to navigate.
Welcome quotes and availability

Another recommendation for Homecert; very efficient and tidy throughout and was thorough in his explainatipn as to what was required and how it was being resolved. Very pleased with the end result

Thanks all for your help!

Actually Sue I am working long hours and have little time which is why I have been trying to find someone to help. I don't understand why it's necessary to send responses like that as it helps no one. If you have had similar experiences I would have thought you would want these experiences highlighted rather than brushed under the carpet. I too have wasted a lot of money on these people so if anyone wants to find out who I have been using they can pm me; in not here to punctually humiliate anyone
-
I haven't given Andys surname because I chose not to name him in full. Why does this upset you? Clearly you have far too much time on your hands with responses like that. Maybe you could take up handywork...

Sue
I've posted it once. Are you offended?

Having posted on here before about the bad experiences of tradesmen in Dulwich and being a resident here for 15 years I find it shocking these people can still get away with it.
I thought I would spend some time doing up my flat starting with the bathroom and bedroom. 7 months and a small fortune on the bathroom still isn't finished. The first guy - Andy - was unbelievable! After a MONTH of very very little apart from talking, I made the mistake of simply asking for it to be at least plumbed in by xmas as my family were visiting - his response was to walk out 2 DAYS before Xmas with the place in a mess and leaving a note asking for half the money. All he had done is pull up a few tiles! There was damage throughout my flat including a wrecked floor and I am still recovering the damage which has had to be sorted out a cost. To top it off when I finally got the bathroom sorted there was a leak under the floorboards which was apparently down to shoddy workmanship. I then hired a local plumber on recommendation, Simon - who I paid up front - the leak was fixed thankfully but he has since disappeared leaving tiles having not been replaced, new ones I bought broken and refuses to return my house keys meaning I've incurred another cost to replace the locks.
It's all a disgraceful way to treat a customer. The whole process has been a nightmare. I am not intending to damage businesses but I'm SICK of dealing with unreliable tradesmen. In MY experience Dulwich is in dire need of reliable trustworthy tradesmen...

Having read a number of posts on here recommending a number of tradesmen I am beginning to wonder how much of them or actually written themselves! I have had constant problems with unreliable and quite frankly poor tradesmen off here since starting work on my property last November! Having made the decision to get my bathroom done up I made the huge mistake of employing one guy - Andy - who made a complete mess then tried to charge me. I thought it was all resolved when I found someone to come and sort out the mess left - for which i doubt there will be enough characters in this box to go through - via a couple of poor decorators after whom I had to tidy up the mess they had left only to then find out I had a leak in the bathroom directly under the bath. despite fixing the leak the last guy has left the place half done (yes I paid him!) so 7 months on I still don't have a nice finished bathroom which has cost me a small fortune.
To top it off I have a leak in my cellar which has STILL to be resolved despite said plumber taking a call out fee and promising to fix it meaning I have a cellar full of sludge and stench.
Could be just bad luck but having lived in Dulwich for 15 years I am hugely disappointed with the poor quality on here. If anyone therefore knows a RELIABLE reasonable plumber who will actually help change a stopcock and sort out the crap the last guy left behind it would be much much appreciated...

Recently posted on here of the poor experience had with tradesmen found on EDF. The first guy Andy took 3 weeks to pull up a few tiles, left the piping a mess, shower wall loose with no waterproof membrane and even took out a support joist under the floor so my hallway floor dipped whenever you stepped near the bathroom and even wanted me to tile the bathroom in the colours of Watford football club (believe it or not he was serious) and use large slate floor tiles on the wall.. To top it off they dumped all the rubbish in my bedroom with nails sticking out everywhere and ruined a new bed. It cost me a fortune to put right. When I asked him to have my bathroom in working order for Xmas having started at the beginning of December he left everything disconnected walked out and demanded I pay half the total amount. He was lucky I didn't sue him
I thought I'd resolved the matter when found another guy on here who put it right however experienced a leak just after my new lovely bathroom had been finished which I was told was down to the dodgy piping the previous guy had used.. So I was told anyway!!
7 months on from the first cowboy starting the bathroom and 2 months on from paying to put it right (so I thought) I am still without a completed bathroom. I also have a cellar full of water from the original leak. In short I will not be using trader off here again!! Expected better of Dulwich..

Hi
Im looking at getting a couple more quotes in to hang two radiators (bedroom and bathroom) and look at my boiler which is dripping (pressure valve replacement potentially) in my flat in East Dulwich ASAP.
I am hoping to get this done next week so was keen to have a couple of quotes etc in before hand. Being Easter I am not around much however if free this evening or potentially Monday/Tuesday to evaluate it would be much appreciated.

had EAST DULWICH PLUMBER to do a job, took the money, charged for a product and vanished without finishing.
Not one for knocking tradesmen but also disagree with dishonest. Other better plumbers out there
