  1. hello thanks for the links.

I have posted on most specific forum. It is happening all over London and I have met a few women. The only problem is to find someone willing to move south.

I am not able to move in order to join an on going house share either, cannot do that to my child again as he is getting extra help at his current school. That's why I was trying my luck with a local forum.

Oh yeas I changed the title ... dunno what I was thinking (blushing) :-)

  2. I wanted cords too but didn't find any grey when I needed. I got away with some cotton grey trousers from Gap and wool trousers from John Lewis. They don't keep them in the School section, you have to look in the "smart cloths" as they are part of a suit - but sell separately obviously.

The only problem is that if your child has got tendency to get holes in the knees they wont last as much

  3. Hello

I was about to post in another section but on a second thought I may have more success here, hopefully

I have now lived in the area for 3 years. Myself and my child (9yr) We are settled but upon yet again another rent rise I have decided that is time to move on.

I always wanted to share with another single parent and child, and I have done so for a few months. It was a great experience for all parties involved.

So what I am asking here is for anyone in a similar position who want to stay local (mainly for schools and friends) but the current market has priced off buying. If like me you are fed up to miss out on good property or make do with a 2 bed flat and would like to share a larger property with a larger garden, have company for the kids, and share some duty and a glass of wine? than there must be a way to make it happen !

If you know of any single parent or a divorced parent who needs a child friendly environment at the week end please send them my way!

I am happy to explore this possibility, meet over a coffee and see where that leads.

Alternatively I would consider sharing with a someone who doesn't mind having a child around or a student that for a reduced rent can do the odd babysitting.

I have posted on more specific forums. There are many parent looking for the same but scattered all over London.

Surely there ought to be someone around this area?

I can afford a decent share of the rent needed for a 3/4 bed house

Thanks for reading so far !

  4. does anyone have a digital copy of a standard but good AST or can provide link to download one

I only have paper ones but has to send new via email tonight :-$ I am the LL.

Need a new one as I served s21 to terminate and renegotiate rent, to which we have agreed.

Also I need advice on whether I can state I provide white goods "as courtesy" but not responsible for maintenance in the new lease. Someone suggested it but not sure it is kosher

btw new goods have just been replaced and there is no any repair whatsoever to be carried out.

    many thanx

  5. Does this happen often in the area?

just spent 45 minutes with an operator doing all tests and only after she booked engineer to come and replace modem she came back to me with.... oh actually...there is a fault in your area

I may be able to call it all off as I only had it installed recently and was already not happy with it and resorted to connect via bluetooth with iphone...

By the way does anybody know what's going to happen to my 3 mobile monthly allowance if I use the iphone to connect? It seems to be ok, fast and the last bill was a regular bill, but it all seems too good to be true

    (apologies for long msg)

  6. Hello

first of all thank you Saffron for having us, it was lovely to meet you and your daughter, she is ever so cute.

Must add - for any one interested - Saffron is well cool ;-)

I would be keen to meet up again and in particular with mums who have a school age child maybe?

I will open up a separate tread but in the meantime if anyone is interested in setting up a small swimming group and get a private instructor I would like to hear.

My son loves the pools but he is not a natural swimmer I found that he benefitted much more from private lessons. Last year we had a 4 children group and he progressed much more than in a class were he would tend to shy away.

  7. oh... I see

tbh that's the interpretation I gave to yummy mummy too :)

sad as it sounds, nowdays I would take it as a compliment as apparently I am more of a member of The Invisible Woman Club (ref some Guardian article about 40 something, with children, divorced, no one interested in them that way.... shalla lalla laaa)
