  1. Took my twins for their first hair cut to GK Barbers in Melbourne Grove today so thank you for the recommendations and I agree with all the positive comments.

Ahmed was brilliant. Knew all the distraction techniques including a big tv with cbeebies on and did a quick, neat job at a very reasonable price (?8 a child).

We were just a walk in and he says Sundays it's normally possible to do that rather than book.

  2. As a result of this thread I booked a massage with Chrissie this afternoon and everything angiepangie says. Chrissie adapted the massage as we went along to suit what she found as such and really feel better for it. 1 hour for ?50 but worth a treat and I think she does offers if you book more than 1 at a time. Enjoy!
  3. Had my twin boys at 30+4 1 year ago tomorrow!

Twin 1 was 3lbs14, twin 2 2lb8. They were teenie tiny and we were in Kings for 6 weeks but after only a year they have caught up with peers and no health probs what so ever.

We are lucky I know but plenty of success stories like ours. I am optimistic for your friend. Good luck, please keep us posted xx

  4. I have twin boys in the baby room and would be keen to hear from anyone else who has babies in there re. thoughts and opinions.

I say I have twins in the baby room but since they started 2 weeks ago one or both of them have been ill with something or another and I have got 'the call' to come and collect so they're barely there!

Fresh start next week I hope!

I also heard that Kate the admin manager is leaving which is a real shame.

  5. I found White Edge on here- saw they were featured advertisers on the ED Forum and that in itself shows a bit of initiative in my opinion!

Just had our small garden in Nunhead transformed. Edgars the boss and his brother and team did the work. Very nice hardworking chaps. From quote to finished job just a few weeks and I did get several quotes.

    Trustworthy, reasonable, reliable, neat.

Good job well done so deserves a recommendation.

  6. Another for Lorenzo...

For my *0th birthday last year my husband arranged for us to have some family shots done by Lorenzo at www.lorenzophotgraphy.co.uk. Our twins were only a few months at the time and I had/ have thousands of iphone snaps so I wondered if we really needed MORE pics but it was BRILLIANT- thoroughly recommend him!

Lorenzo comes to your house beforehand to see the setting and meet the children and then on the day it's very relaxed. He's great with babies and it wasn't embarrassing or awkward at all (my other worry!)

We got the pictures less than 2 weeks later and chose our favourites to print and then you can guess what everyone got for Christmas from us!

  7. Hi Saus01,

I run BC Bikes, (recently renamed Balfe's Bikes) We sell Treks, Felt, Genesis and Bianchi so a fair range available to order.

If I may suggest, it might be worth looking at the Trek Domane... of course I would say that! But it is an awesome new bike which actually takes a real step forward in frame design.

The seat tube is not connected to the top tube so it cancels out most of the flex at the Bottom Bracket. I am getting one myself and can't wait!

In fairness Edwardes in Camberwell are good guys too, as well as Brixton. Come talk to us though and we'll try our best to help.

(I am emailing from my wife's username as I can't remember my login.)

    Kindest, Richard.

  8. Congrats newtwins!

I, like a lot of people in ED, have twins and it was a complicated pregnancy. I finally gave birth at 30 weeks and despite my boys being in special care for 6 weeks they're absolutely fine so far!

I was under Kings this whole time and haven't a bad word to say about them from twin Wednesday scans to neonatal I felt supported all the way.

I'm a member of DDTC and TAMBA and also there are some interesting threads on fertility friends which I've found of use.

You're not alone so please try and enjoy rather than worry!! (Impossible and I worried throughout but feel should say it anyway!).

    Ellie xx

  9. Congrats Ruth! I was probably in special care at the same time as you! Glad all well now and Oscar is home.

George and Henry now both home too so count me in for Monday at The gardens however they usually feed about 10 do doubt will be there until 1130-12 (yes it does take that long!) so understand if you get bored of waiting but will show up anyway!

    Love Ellie xxx

  10. Thanks for support and kind words everyone!

I now can't come tonight as twin 1 (George) is hopefully coming home at the weekend so we're rooming in at the hospital tonight. He's reached 34 weeks and is just over 4lbs and apparently that's good enough to come home- eeek!

His little brother Henry is taking his time more and not even 3lbs yet so will be in hospital a while longer so having one in and one out is going to bring new challenges but hey ho.

    They're fab though!

See you all soon and have fun tonight xxx
