Hi there, I think the person you are talking about is called Clare, she also runs a stall on Northcote Road in Clapham up the far end away from the Junction which is her main stall, might be worth popping over there on a Saturday.

I thought that the aircraft noise got worse after 9/11. Did the planes not used to fly over the City but after 9/11 were re-routed and seemed to come in on their approach more in the direction of ED? Or is that me totally making it up?

Paul, i actually shared a taxi with you and my friend on the way to Bestival. I must say that i've always enjoyed the food at the SC and was in ED just before Xmas and it was fine, good fish and great chips and reasonably priced. Anyway all the best for 08 and no doubt see you in the IOW later this year.

"Upper East Side" are we talking New York or East Dulwich here?

I have been looking around ED, Clapham and Palace to purchase and there are plenty of excellent deals to be had. Still not completely comfortable with the market so am still holding off, but sellers seem to be more aware that the golden selling days of the last couple of years with hiked up prices have cooled off a bit.

I think quite a few of the new overpriced builds have been caught out purely because of the economic situation, and buyers being more wary. On the flipside a few good deals to be had perhaps???

Sorry, what i meant to say was that i came back to ED and it was probably the most amazing place i've ever been to.....just making an honest observation!!!!

Clapham has become like the West End on a Fri/Saturday night, although on my last trip to ED most of the bars were full of sloaney ponies, seemed a bit samey to me, is nowhere safe?

Has anyone moved from ED to Clapham or visa versa, i lived in ED for 7 years before moving out of London and then moving back in again, now live in the Old Town in Clapham, does anyone have a preference and pro's/con's of both places?

I moved out of ED 18 months ago and have only returned once since, having lived there since 1996. I couldn't believe how busy it was, traffic jams down LL and Foxton's cars everywhere, it seemed to have turned into Northcote (nappy valley) Road. On the subject of house prices, it's interesting how many properties have been on the market for quite some time and haven't shifted, it's probably due to them using Foxtons and having their property over valued by vast amounts. Still like ED but it's changed for the worse....
