Attached is a photo of the info going out by post from the government which is probably the easiest way to explain it.

That?s if you live alone and have symptoms and they are resolved by day 7.
For those with potential contact it is 14 days regardless of living situation.
The discrepancy you refer to is that the WHO are advising 14 days isolation for symptoms or for contacts whereas PHE are advising 7 days for those with symptoms.

Sorry to hear of the loss of loved ones.
Isolation rules are 7 days from the start of symptoms if you think you have the infection. 14 days if you have been in contact with someone infected but don?t get symptoms.
If you get symptoms whilst you are isolating you finish the isolation period 7 days after symptoms begin regardless of when you started the isolation.
The advice can be found here

Hello all, I received a Sunday Times subscription for Christmas, but it transpires that they only delivery you vouchers, and you still have to go out to your local news agents to collect the paper. In the interests of not having to get out of bed on a winter Sunday morning, does anyone know of a news agent that offers a delivery service in the Lyndhurst Grove area?
Thanks,
Laura

We won't make it today as still a bit fragile for a trip out. Hope you have a good afternoon and that we can meet you all soon,

Another winter baby arrival to report - I had my son on Christmas Day, but have only just settled back in at home as it wasn't the straightforward home birth I'd planned.
Congratulations on all the new arrivals and good luck to everyone still waiting for their little ones.
Looking forward to meeting up with everyone soon

Hi,
I'm also a little late to the thread. Expecting my first just before Christmas. Would be good to meet up, especially now I'm on mat leave and can make the midweek dates,
