Head Teacher appointed for The Charter School East Dulwich
TimN replied to littlek1cker's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Simon give the DFE press release (see below) The Charter School East Dulwich The ?outstanding? and heavily over-subscribed Charter School will be opening a second school in 2016 on the site of the former East Dulwich hospital. Catering for 1220 students, the school will meet the huge demand for new places in the Dulwich area. Charter School East Dulwich will encourage all students to become creative, confident and caring citizens. The school will also offer work-related learning through a partnership with King?s College Hospital, the largest local employer. Which appeared to take you slightly by surprise, can I seek some reassurance as a year 5 parent about the vision for the school 1). Are you deliberately seeking to draw a distinction between the Academic Charter 1, and a more vocational Charter 2? 2). What have you promised or committed that has informed or shaped this press release, that heavily stresses vocational links and a work related partnership with Kings College Hospital? 3). Could I invite you to publish your bid in full so we can evaluate your proposed vision and the values that your new school hopes to embrace. TimN -

Our friend had his van broken into and the front windscreen smashed in broad daylight in Worlingham Rd today (1/7). Van is large white one with silver fern written on the side. Incident happened between 11-1.30. If anybody saw or heard anything please let us know. Thanks

This is such a good idea - get so sick of same things Lasagne Moussaka Shepherds pie Curries - thai green, tikka and mussaman popular in our house - can make up batch of the spices and will keep for some time Chicken fried rice with peas beouf borguinon (sp?) - bit of red wine never hurt anyone Can i urge busy parents to check out my friend Jenny's book - Leith's simple cookery - really lovely recipies but all quite straightforward with not too many ingredients or excessive prep or cooking time Mrs TimN

This thread re-ignited my interest in the warehouse having not been for ages. Looks so much better and new area (parma violet?) had loads of stuff that will be returning to purchase Farmhouse pantry may be worth a look when it opens Fruit and veg place out front is probably wonderful but was immediately put off by the "ello darlin" when I walked past - not that i was offended just that it made me feel awkward and not want to stop.
