  1. Definitely agree with all of the above, i would advise anyone who has children who are not super academic and especially those with an SEN. to avoid! Charter East does not nurture it's children and operates a punitive behavioural policy which penalises SEN kids to the point of exclusions.

The music, PE and art and drama department are woeful and the whole place is essentially oppressive.

There are however some wonderful teachers there, at the moment. But seems to be a steady stream of male teachers leaving including the amazing deputy head which will be a huge loss.

This school really has not found its feet since Mr Crossman left and i would seriously think twice if you have creative SEN boys especially.

  2. Hi

sorry if this has been covered already ,but how do i get the dates of posts to come up beside them. I used to find that really useful when looking for recent posts i knew exactly when something had been posted and by who.

    Thanks Joe.

  3. I totally understand that centres have had to limit numbers during these weird times and i finally managed to book a swim at Brockwell lido and would like to go with the kids as we used to, but the family sessions are all booked up at least a week in advance and its not even the hols yet.

When i asked at the desk they said they are keeping the booking system after restrictions are lifted as they think its fairer!I cannot see how this is fair for anyone without a smart phone, anyone who justs fancies a swim that day, any kids who just want to meet up spontaneously and have a laugh because they are teenagers!any younger kids whose parents haven't downloaded the app and haven't got time to constantly watch the site for spaces when they go live!

Personally i feel this will turn the lido into an exclusive club instead fulfilling the needs of its local community.

Another public space lifted out of reach.

  4. Hi,just wondering if anyone has had any experience of seeing a dermatologist and could recommend one?

My 14 year old has had fairly severe acne for over a year which we have been treating with prescribed antibiotics with some success but i feel like our GP is maybe running out of options so would like to speak to a specialist.

    Any advice gratefully received.

  5. Has anyone had experience of kids going swimming recently?

All the family slots seem to be booked and i'm wondering whether its worth it as it's all lane swimming so no chance of 12 year old fun!

Can never get through to the lido, think its the same scenario.

Anyone know the score on bigger boys going swimming in post pandemic times?

  6. Hi does anyone know about that weird bit of the conjestion charge zone that sticks out across Hyde Park Corner?

I crossed it today i think but didn't enter the main zone.Cannot find any clarity in any online search, might have to just pay it in case.No postcode for Hyde Pk corner so the checker is no use.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

  7. The website continuously says no test sites available. The one on Albany rd seems to have disappeared as does the Belair one.Greeenwich is still there but my neighbour was turned away when they went there without a booked slot despite it being deserted.

Many other parents in the same position, with numbers rising and kids back at school, zero testing on hand unless you want to pay ?135 for a private and possibly unreliable test. How many people are actually going to bite the the bullet and put everything on hold for 2 weeks with every cough and sneeze, many can't afford to lose the income. So buckle up people this is going to be a very rough ride.

  8. Hi,i would really appreciate some advice on some recent events.

My dad very sadly died of the virus on tuesday at Kings College hospital.Contrary to everythig we hear my sister was allowed to go and see him in his last hours, for which we are very grateful. We now face a difficult situation where she has been told to isolate only for 7 days by her work and a GP.I am convinced that she should isolate for 14 days. She thankfully is not showing any symptoms yet.

    Could anybody advise please?
