I have just read on open council network that Tesco had applied for an alcohol licence, and an ATM license, according to the article. Not sure if permission was granted, due to local opposition, citing another supermarket might encourage shoplifting and anti-social behaviour.

There was a link on this thread re planning permission for the old pound shop site. We the traders don’t know anything about it. Ask my brother, he would have a better idea if Tesco’s opening or not.

Planning permission for the new Tesco Express on the old Poundland site, on Lordship Lane has now been granted. It was granted on the 14th October. Tesco’s will have an ATM, which we need in East Dulwich.

Do you use the local shops?
