What I think is a "little pathetic" is that faith groups have a hand in education at all in this country. Having said that, if you have a child at school age, and your chosen school is a church school, then the church or it's followers should have no problem with you as a pretender coming into their church for a year to get your kids into school. In fact they should be grateful you're coming at all and see it as a marketing opportunity. If churches had no say in admission policies of certain schools, do you really think that church attendance would be anywhere near what it is at the moment in East Dulwich? Go along and check out all the parents with toddlers in the congregation trying to ingratiate themselves with the vicar. Sad? Yes; it's an awful situation. Deceitful? I have no problem deceiving a system that's rotten.
