A recommendation for the really fab Kirkdale Fabrics! Passed by today looking for a very specific type of fabric. Great place, a real treasure trove. Lovely and very knowledgeable owner. Very affordable as well. The shop is open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Just had the most lovely dinner at Cafe G and just wanted to make people aware that this lovely place is now open for dinner on Thursday-Friday and Saturday. On the menu are burgers (meat and veggie), wings, salads and some other nice dishes. The burgers are homemade and absolutely delicious (and huge), the service is fantastic and the prices are very good (we had two huge burgers, both double, fries and a beer and paid £27). Go and support them, such a great place! It’s around the corner from The Gardens.

No post or parcels for close to two weeks now. I'm in Sydenham Hill area and the sorting office is in Forest Hill. Apparently they've got 27 people off for various reasons.

I?ve heard that Alleyn?s holiday club is great. https://www.alleyns.org.uk/alleyns-enterprises/holiday-camps

My son used this company and it all worked really well. You collect the test, register, do the test at home and return test by 2pm. Results next day. https://tests.medicspot.co.uk/products/bromley-beckenham

Like Dulwich College, Alleyn?s is also using their DT lab to make masks and visors. Grateful to the staff at both schools, and any other schools doing this, for working during the Easter Holidays to provide these vital pieces of equipment to NHS frontline staff. Alleyn?s top field is the one sandwiched between Townley Road and Calton Avenue btw.

Saying Alleyn?s is a parasite squatting in our midst is quite a strong statement. As you were wondering if they give anything back to the community I thought I?d sent you this, which is on their website. https://www.alleyns.org.uk/community-partnership https://www.alleyns.org.uk/community-partnership/sharing-facilities https://www.schoolstogether.org/case-studies/?schoolId=81899&page=1 (7 pages) Alleyn?s gets a lot of bad publicity on this forum and some of it is well justified. However, they also do good and I think that?s sometimes worth mentioning as well.

Ferndene Road has paid parking from midday till 2pm only (not sure if it?s like this for the whole of Ferndene but certainly for part of it).

My neighbour?s front door was kicked in in the middle of the day last week and jewellery and other possessions were stolen. Luckily she wasn?t in at the time. This was in the Sydenham Hill area.
