  1. I'm looking for some help with renovating our cellar.

We're in a ground floor flat in a victorian terrace and have a fairly good sized cellar. We currently use it for storage - it's dry but dusty and we're not making best use of the space. It's got limited head height in places. I would like to make it a bit more practical - i'm thinking some plaster board on the walls to reduce dust and some better shelving. We have lighting down there but we'd like to also install electrics for a freezer and tumble dryer if possible.

Has anyone done similar or have suggestions of the kind of tradesperson who would do this type of work.

  2. Another recommendation for Andy Jacobs.

This is the second time we?ve used him. He came round to fit a new shower screen and new door handles. The screen was tough to fit but Andy was calm and careful to make sure the tiles damaged. He was committed to finishing the job despite it taking longer than anticipated.

He is personable, very tidy and does a great job.

  3. I found Josh a few months ago via the East Dulwich Forum.

Josh designed, built and installed some beautiful plywood wardrobes in two slightly awkward alcoves in my flat. I'm so pleased with the end result and I would thoroughly recommend him.

He was quick to respond to messages and easy to communicate with via email. He visited several times to discuss the brief and his designs, iterating as he went along. He made great design suggestions but I never felt under pressure or rushed to make a decision. When Josh came to install the wardrobes he was efficient, tidy and his attention to detail was superb. For bespoke furniture I feel that the cost was very reasonable and competitive with other quotes I received.

Our bedroom has been transformed and I am now thinking of other projects I can invite Josh to help with.

  4. I would also recommend Stephen and his partner Gary. Gary painted our communal hallway and front door recently. He was efficient, friendly and did a great job, and cleaned up perfectly every day. Stephen was very easy to communicate with and always responded quickly and helpfully to my emails. I also really appreciated him buying the paint on my behalf. Would definitely use them again.

  5. I'm looking for a professional photographer for our small London (SE5) wedding in July.

I'm finding the packages offered by many photographers specialising in weddings a bit overwhelming - we really only want the photographer to join us for at hour or so at the Registry Office and to receive a handful of images afterwards. Also, my partner is a keen photographer and is happy to edit photos himself if RAW images provided (if this is helpful / saves your time / cost).

Does anyone provide a low key photography service or can recommend someone to help us?

    Thanks,

    Clare

  6. I found Paul through this forum and he came this week to do some jobs in my new flat. Paul put up shelves, built flat pack furniture and did some other odd jobs like putting up hooks and a bathroom mirror. He was exceptionally friendly, hard working and I'm pleased with the results of his work; in fact I have a few more jobs for him already! His number is 07843 877284.
